This NBA Team Has the Most Annoying Fans, According to Players

Hey, no judgment. Nowadays, where every interaction between a fan and a player can go viral depending on where a camera is pointed, it’s easy to go from hardcore supporter to obnoxious very quickly.

And in the world of the NBA, there are several fanbases that players think go from passionate to annoying.

The Athletic surveyed over 100 NBA players during the regular season with the promise of anonymity to have them open up about some of the most burning questions across the basketball community.

One of those was about which fans were the worst in the league. The arenas where players show up and can’t wait to get out because the opposing fans are so annoying and sometimes vulgar.

Leading the pack, not too much of a surprise, were the Boston Celtics fans at the TD Garden, who got 32.1% of the 159 players who voted on this question.

Behind them is another northeast team, the Philadelphia 76ers fans, who came in with 17.9% of the vote.

Not to be outdone by their neighbors, the New York Knicks grabbed the bronze medal of most obnoxious fans for NBA players, with 16.4%.

The first true surprise of the ranking came at fourth place, where the Utah Jazz got 8.2%, above the likes of the Memphis Grizzlies (3.8), Oklahoma City Thunder (3.8%), and Indiana Pacers (3.1%).
