Jay Williams Called Out For 'Clown' Behavior Towards Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

ESPN analyst Jay Williams appears to be feuding with Oklahoma City Thunder fans this NBA postseason.

During this Friday's episode of "Get Up," Williams shared a new segment that mocked Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He called it "Life Alert with SGA" since it showed the amount of times Gilgeous-Alexander fell to the ground during Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.

Oklahoma City fans made it well known that they didn't appreciate Williams' criticism.

"How am I supposed to take this product series when it's being covered like this man," one fan commented.

"Jay Williams turning into a clickbait clown was not on my bingo card. I remember when you used to be respectable. Literally praised Shai and OKC last year," a second fan wrote. "Did you get a raise to act like this or something?"

"Do people really enjoy watching a guy who played 75 career games mock the reigning 2x MVP?" another person asked. "Who is this for?"

On Saturday morning, Williams responded to all his critics. Let's just say he's not backing down from his initial stance.

"One thing I've learned in sports, business, and media: when people can't attack the argument, they attack the messenger," Williams fired back. "I showed three clips. The conversation became about my résumé. That's usually a sign we're no longer discussing the actual point."

Jay Williams isn't the only ESPN personality who called out SGA.

Earlier this week, ESPN host Mike Greenberg went on a rant about Gilgeous-Alexander's style of play.

"Sometimes, watching him play is agonizing," Greenberg said. "It is not fun. There's a reason this is such a polarizing group. When they're your guys, you love them. … You have to understand that for the rest of us, watching this style of play is not like watching Steph, it's not like watching Michael Jordan. It's just not. We're watching to be entertained."

Gilgeous-Alexander has plenty of motivation heading into Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, make no mistake about it.

Tipoff for Game 7 is at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
