2026 MLB All-Star Game Voting is Open: Everything You Need To Know

MLB All-Star Game season has begun as voting for the 96th annual Midsummer classic opened on Wednesday. The 2026 All-Star Game returns to Philadelphia for the first time in 30 years on Tuesday, July 14 at Citizens Bank Park.

Every year, MLB fans from around the world vote to select the starting position players and designated hitters for the American and National League All‑Star teams. MLB opens up the fan voting in two phases, with phase one open from June 3 until June 25.

During phase one, fans vote for eight position players and one designated hitter from each league to start the All‑Star Game. Prior to the start of phase one, each MLB team nominated one player at every infield spot, along with one designated hitter and three outfielders. Fans can select any of these nominees or write in players they believe deserve to represent their team. During phase one, fans are allowed to vote five times a day.

The leading vote-getter in each league coming out of phase one will automatically be rewarded the starting position. Last season, those two players were Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, who both received around four million votes.

Phase two will begin on June 29 and run until July 2. During this much shorter timeframe, fans vote once per day for one finalist at each open infield position, designated hitter and outfield.

The fan chosen starting lineups will be announced following the closure of phase two on July 2.

The rest of the All-Star rosters are made up of 23 reserve position players and pitchers. These are selected by both the commissioner's office and other kinds of player ballots. At least one player from each MLB team must be represented at the Midsummer Classic.

Fans can vote for the All-Star starters online at MLB.com/vote, an MLB team website, the MLB app or the MLB Ballpark app.

The All-Star game is one of many events taking place in Philadelphia during the week in July. Other events include the Home Run Derby, MLB Draft, the All-Star Red Carpet and the MLB Futures Game. There is sure to be a strong presence in Philadelphia, especially with other events around the city for the 250th birthday of the United States.

Phase one voting is open until June 25, make sure to do your part to make sure your favorite player and team are represented in Philadelphia.
