Russell Wilson Receives Message From Wife Ciara After NFL Retirement

After 14 seasons in the NFL, 10 Pro Bowl selections, and helping bring the first Super Bowl championship to Seattle with the Seahawks in 2014, quarterback Russell Wilson officially announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Wilson is set to join CBS as an NFL analyst on Sundays, replacing Matt Ryan, who left the network this offseason to take a front-office position with the Atlanta Falcons.

“Thank You, Football,” Wilson wrote in an Instagram post. “Love, #3.”

Wilson received messages from many notable figures around the NFL, including Patrick Mahomes, Derrick Henry, Justin Fields, and Patrick Surtain II. However, perhaps the most meaningful message came from his biggest supporter - his wife, Ciara.

“The best in the world! There's only one, 3! Always so proud of you! It's a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!” she wrote.

Wilson and Ciara met in early 2015, shortly after he led the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl championship. The couple married in 2016 and have since become one of the most recognizable power couples in sports and entertainment.

With Wilson’s success on the football field and Ciara’s accomplishments in the music industry, the two have built massive fanbases of their own while remaining among the most popular celebrity couples in the public eye.
