Top 4 Landing Spots for Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte Amid Trade Rumors

The New England Patriots spent the offseason rebuilding their wide receiver room around quarterback Drake Maye.

First came the four-year, $68 million signing of Romeo Doubs. Then came the blockbuster trade for star wideout A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Suddenly, a receiving corps that once lacked a true No. 1 target now features Brown, Doubs, DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, and Kayshon Boutte competing for snaps.

However, multiple reports indicate Boutte is now interested in a trade after not taking part in the team’s voluntary workouts over the last few weeks, while the Patriots have reportedly received inquiries from teams around the league.

The 24-year-old wide receiver is entering the final year of his rookie contract and carries a base salary of just $3.67 million, making him an affordable option for receiver-needy teams.

Boutte quietly developed into one of New England’s better young offensive weapons, posting 1,140 receiving yards and nine touchdowns on 76 catches (114 targets) over the last two seasons alone while building chemistry with Maye.

But with a more crowded receiver room now, Boutte suddenly finds himself fighting for targets.

Trading away a young receiver with upside can be risky, but if there’s a chance he could leave after the season anyway, netting draft picks now could be the way to go.

With that in mind, here are the top four landing spots for Boutte should New England decide to move him.

1. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders may be the cleanest fit. Las Vegas still lacks receiving depth and is in the middle of building a younger offensive core, with Tre Tucker, Jalen Nailor, and Jack Bech currently projected among the team’s top receivers. Boutte would arrive as a low-cost, high-upside addition capable of stepping into meaningful snaps immediately while giving No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza another explosive weapon to develop alongside.

2. Washington Commanders

Washington is built to compete now, but the Commanders still lack proven receiving depth behind Terry McLaurin. Their reported interest in Brandon Aiyuk suggests they’re looking to add another weapon, but Aiyuk’s recent legal trouble could complicate matters, and Boutte would provide a much cheaper solution. He would bring speed, upside, and valuable familiarity with franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels after the two played together at LSU.

3. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have star power at the top of the depth chart with Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, but the depth behind them remains relatively unproven. Baltimore also entered the offseason actively discussing ways to add another receiver after losing veterans DeAndre Hopkins and Isaiah Likely. The Ravens took USC’s Ja’Kobi Lane in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft, but Boutte would give them a proven third receiver who has already delivered at the NFL level.

4. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City’s receiver room has upside, but it also carries plenty of uncertainty. Rashee Rice remains a key piece, though injuries and off-field issues have complicated his outlook. Xavier Worthy is expected to take another leap, while Jalen Royals, Cyrus Allen, and Tyquan Thornton are still trying to establish themselves as reliable contributors. Boutte would offer a low-cost solution with starting experience, giving Patrick Mahomes another dependable target without requiring a major investment.
