Caitlin Clark Praised for What She Did After Fever Win Over Dream

The Indiana Fever entered Thursday’s WNBA Commissioner's Cup matchup against the Atlanta Dream riding a two-game losing streak.

Indiana was coming off its worst loss of the season, a 100-84 defeat to the Portland Fire in which superstar Caitlin Clark scored just six points in 21 minutes after getting into early foul trouble.

On Thursday, however, everything seemed to click for the Fever as they defeated the Dream 83-71 behind a 25-point performance from Kelsey Mitchell. Clark also turned in a strong all-around effort, finishing with 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds.

Clark earned praise after the game for a postgame interaction with fans. Before heading to the locker room, she stopped to sign autographs, and when a young girl asked for the game-worn sneakers she had on her feet, Clark didn’t hesitate to take them off and gift them to the fan.

Fans quickly praised Clark for the gesture on social media.

"A true sports hero who is humble, honest and kind to everyone. She represents the best of humanity to those who love her," one fan wrote.

"My GOAT is always for the people," another added.

"You are so awesome, CC!" a third fan commented.

"Proud of u CC!!!" another supporter shared.

One more person wrote, "Watched her do this for lucky kiddos all throughout college."

It’s been a challenging week for Clark and the Fever after everything that transpired during their matchup against the Fire. However, Indiana improved to 5-4 through its first nine games with Thursday’s victory, and Clark is off to another strong start in her third WNBA season.

Through nine games, the Fever star is averaging 19.8 points, 8.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game while continuing to serve as one of the league’s biggest attractions.
