Jason Whitlock Claims Fever Are Trading Caitlin Clark To L.A. Sparks

Are the Indiana Fever entertaining a blockbuster trade involving Caitlin Clark? There's a rumor swirling around the WNBA world this Friday that has fans questioning what's next for the former No. 1 pick.

When the Fever ruled out Clark due to back soreness on May 20, some fans thought she was being disciplined by head coach Stephanie White. Others just assumed the Fever were mismanaging Clark's health, which is why Rachel DeMita brought up the possibility of the All-Star guard leaving Indiana.

"I don't know if Caitlin staying with the Indiana Fever makes sense," DeMita said. "I think If this were an NBA franchise, an NBA organization, people would be fired by now. This is the face of the league, a star player who never had injuries. People would be fired by now. People would be fired expeditiously expeditiously. Somebody has to go down for it. That's what happens in every other league. We literally just saw Jason Kidd get fired by the Mavericks because they had a horrible season and they have Cooper Flagg. We see this happen so often."

Well, according to former FOX Sports host Jason Whitlock, the Fever are planning to deal Clark to the Los Angeles Sparks.

"The Indiana Fever are planning to ship Caitlin Clark to the Los Angeles Sparks," Whitlock said. "I expect UCLA coach Cori Close to be the head coach of the Sparks."

Most fans aren't buying this rumor from Whitlock. For what it's worth, no credible WNBA reporter has said anything about Clark being on the move.

"Id be stunned if they trade her mainly on the basis of ticket sales. But that would be crazy if it happens," Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports said.

Caitlin is committed to Indiana.

After leading the Fever to a win over the Dream on Thursday night, Clark made it clear that she's tired of all the negative noise surrounding her squad.

"I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible, but hopefully it makes a lot of people just be quiet. I know there's always going to be conversation, and I totally respect that, and I always understand that, but the sky is not falling," Clark said.

Clark, who is averaging 19.8 points and 8.1 assists per game this season, hasn't expressed any desire to leave the Fever.

Make no mistake though, WNBA fans will continue to speculate about Clark's future until she signs a long-term contract.
