Raptors Recap (June 6): Ridgefield 3, Port Angeles 1
Highlights - Parker Heintz and Cole Schmidt combined to hold Port Angeles to five hits as the Raptors took the first two of a three-game road series. Ridgefield scored two unearned runs in the second inning then got a solo home run from Isaiah Hearn in the seventh.
At the plate - Ridgefield centerfielder Hearn (Oregon) had drove in two runs, including an RBI groundout in the second.... Raptors designated hitter JT Summers (Oregon) went 2 for 4, raising his batting average to .467. ...Catcher Bo Rico (Fresno State) went 2 for 4 with a double.
On the mound - Ridgefield starter Heintz (Fresno State) had six strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and no walks. The left-hander hasn't allowed an earned run in 7 2/3 innings.... Schmidt (George Fox) pitched the final 4 1/3 innings to earn the win. He allowed two hits, one walk and struck out three.
Next up - The Raptors (5-3) continue conclude the season's first road series Sunday in Port Angeles at 1:35 p.m. Ridgefield then returns home to open a three-game set against the Yakima Valley Pippins on Tuesday.
