Spurs' De'Aaron Fox Reveals Plans for Madison Square Garden Crowd

The San Antonio Spurs need to steal at least one game on the road at Madison Square Garden in order to keep their NBA championship hopes alive.

The Spurs dropped both games at home as the red-hot New York Knicks secured back-to-back victories at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center in Game 1 and Game 2. Now, they head into a hostile environment at one of sports’ greatest stages: Madison Square Garden.

The MSG crowd will be rocking as they support their team in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, two wins away from the franchise’s first NBA title since 1973.

Spurs point guard De’Aaron Fox says they need to take the crowd out of it early in Game 3.

“You’re in New York. Even when they travel you hear New York fans, “Fox said. “It’s easier said than done, but try to take the crowd out of it as quickly as possible. … It’s going to be loud. It’s going to be hostile. Just try to not let the crowd get on their toes too much.”

The Knicks are on a historic 13-game postseason win streak, including five consecutive playoff wins at Madison Square Garden. The team notched back-to-back series sweeps over the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers, with their last loss coming in Game 3 of their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.
