Kelso Cascades' coach Travis Keele watches practice on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Rister Stadium. Keele is set to be inducted into the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame on Friday.

Even after 32 years of coaching for both Kelso Youth Baseball and Kelso Babe Ruth, Keele was surprised to hear the news.

"I couldn't believe it," he said. "I never thought of myself getting in on that. Whoever turned it in, I thank them. I'm very honored."

Throughout his 32 years of coaching, Keele's teams have won numerous games. Kelso Premier 18U notably won the regional tournament and placed second in the Babe Ruth World Series in 2024 when he was an assistant with the team before taking over as head coach last season.

Keele will be joining Norm Hill (1993), Bob Baker (2011), Dennis and Glenda Mackey (2012), Kirc Roland (2014), John Croco (2021), Jolene McCaw (2021), and Gunnar Guttormsen (2021) as members of the WA Babe Ruth Hall of Fame with ties to Kelso Babe Ruth.
