Raptors Recap (June 10): Ridgefield 9, Yakima Valley 3
Highlights - The Raptors got another strong pitching performance to stretch their winning streak to five games. Four hurlers combined to allow just six hits. Ridgefield has not allowed more than eight hits in any game during their streak. At 8-3, the Raptors now sit atop the West Coast League South Division by one game.
At the plate - Ridgefield catcher Reagan McClusky (Dallas Baptist) broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run double with one out in the seventh inning....1B Cade Ladehoff (Michigan) hit a two-run double that keyed Ridgefield's four-run eighth inning.... CF Zach Wadas (Loyola Marymount) went 2 for 4, including a two-run home run in the second inning.... SS Michael Perazzo (Sacramento State) went 3 for 4 with three runs scored, raising his batting average to .382.
On the mound - Cole Schmidt (George Fox) and Ryan McClaskey (Northwestern Oklahoma State, Camas HS), split the work over the first six innings, allowing a combined four hits and two walks.... Noah Coakes (Paradise Valley, Columbia River HS) pitched one inning and earned the win to improve to 2-0....Mateo Rojas (Canada College) pitched two scoreless innings, striking out four to earn his first save.
Next up - The Raptors conclude their three-game series against Yakima Valley on Thursday at Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex. First pitch is 6:35 p.m. It's Little League Night and the season's first trading card giveaway. The first 300 fans receive a pack of Raptors trading cards. All youth baseball and softball players wearing their uniforms get in free.
