Ben Stiller Accused Of 'Tone Deaf' Comment On NBA Finals Tickets
Ben Stiller has been there for every step of this 2026 New York Knicks postseason run. The "Meet the Parents" star has been courtside or behind the Knicks for several big games, home and away, throughout the postseason.
But how much is Stiller actually paying for his courtside seats?
Stiller appeared on "Inside the NBA" before tipoff on Wednesday night. He was asked by Charles Barkley: "How long have you actually had season tickets?"
"I don't have a season ticket. I just get the tickets. The celebrities... [the Knicks] give us the tickets," Stiller replied.
It's not surprising, but when fans are paying thousands of dollars to sit in the nosebleeds, and celebrities worth tens and hundreds of millions are getting their tickets for free, it comes across as a bit tone-deaf.
Fans ripping Stiller for his NBA Finals ticket comment
"It truly is hilarious and shocking we haven't turned on 'celebrities' yet as a country. Like there are few if any people should want to be like and the richer you are the more free stuff you get," one fan wrote.
"Celebs are front row freeloaders while regular folks pay thousands to sit in the nosebleeds," one fan added.
"Just tone deaf," one fan shared.
"Go Spurs. This celebrity fan stuff has jumped the shark. Nobody cares, you sit courtside for free. You are not invested," one fan added.
"How anyone who isn't famous can root for this team is beyond me," another fan added.
"He wasn't supposed to say that out loud," one fan shared.
Game 5, meanwhile, is set to tip off live from San Antonio on Saturday night. If there is a Game 6, it'll be back at Madison Square Garden next week, surely with plenty of celebrities in attendance.
