Hundreds Of Knicks Fans Called Out For Leaving Game 4 Early

It cost literally thousands of dollars just to get in the door at Madison Square Garden to see the Knicks play the Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. But that didn't stop some Knicks fans - potentially hundreds of them - from leaving the game early amid the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history.

According to Darren Rovell, "at least 200 Knicks fans" could be seen leaving at halftime when the Knicks were down 76-49. Assuming those fans weren't just taking bathroom breaks and left MSG entirely, they missed what wound up being not just one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history, but one of the greatest moments in the history of sports.

Rovell couldn't help but wonder how those fans who left the game might be feeling this morning finding out what they likely missed at the end of last night.

"Saw at least 200 Knicks fans leave at the half. Imagine leaving. Getting home. Going to bed in disgust. And waking up tomorrow morning?" Rovell mused.

Lessons Learned

Some NBA fans declared that for the amount of money they would have paid for tickets, nothing could have forced them to leave. Others pointed to lessons they've learned from their own instances of leaving early. Still others joked that if you pay that kind of money and leave early, you deserve the pain:

"If I pay 3k for a single ticket, you better believe I'm staying until the cleaning crew kicks me out, win or lose," one user declared on X.

"Did that with 9 min left in the 4th of Gm1 vs CLE was embarrassed and regretted it for 2 weeks - but owned it Didn't do it tonight," another user remarked.

"I mean, if you paid that kind of money and left, that's what you deserve," a third wrote.

The Knicks now lead the Spurs 3-1 in the NBA Finals. It's entirely possible that the Knicks close out the series in San Antonio this Saturday to cement one of the greatest postseason runs in NBA history.

It would truly take the Knicks blowing the entire series to keep those fans from regretting the decision to leave for the rest of their lives.
