Tributes Pour In After Female Sprinter Jemma Stapleton Dies On Vacation at 25

Tributes are pouring in after a beloved female sprinter has died on family vacation at 25 years old.

Jemma Stapleton, an Australian sprinter, was on vacation with her family, when tragedy struck. The Australian sprinter was killed in a tragic vacation accident. She was killed while riding a motorcycle in Thailand.

"Jemma Stapleton was reportedly riding a motorcycle on Thailand's Koh Samui island Wednesday when disaster struck … with authorities pointing to rainy weather as a possible factor in the crash. Her family was traveling just behind her when it happened," TMZ Sports reported.

"The tragedy comes just a little over a week after Stapleton celebrated her 25th birthday and months after another standout season on the track. The Melbourne native finished third in the prestigious Stawell Gift in 2025 and returned to the final again this year -- cementing her status as one of Australia's rising sprint talents."

More than $100,000 has been raised for her family.

"It is with great sadness that our beautiful friends the Stapleton family are facing the unmeasurable grief while on a family holiday with the passing of their beautiful daughter, sister and partner Jemma," the fundraiser reads.

"This go fund me has been set up ( and approved by the family) to help ease a bit of pressure financially for the family so they can grieve together and spend as much time together as possible to get through and navigate this impossible loss.

"Jemma tragically lost her life in an accident while overseas with her family, any and all support to help the Stapleton family to bring her home is kindly appreciated!"
