Mitchell Robinson Posts Emotional Message After Knicks Championship Win
The New York Knicks just finished up one of the most dominant playoff runs in NBA history, going 16-3 with a +283 point differential en route to the franchise’s first NBA title since 1973.
The Knicks secured their championship victory with a Game 5 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night, winning the NBA Finals 4-1.
Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks, averaging 32.6 points per game in the championship series. The Finals MVP scored 45 points in Game 5, delivering an unforgettable NBA Finals performance.
Brunson was assisted by several key Knicks role players, including backup center Mitchell Robinson.
Robinson ripped down 10 rebounds through 20 minutes of action in Game 5, including a critical rebound over Victor Wembanyama after a missed free-throw attempt from Josh Hart late in the fourth quarter.

Robinson posted an emotional social media message on Monday.
“I don't even know where to begin,” Robinson wrote on Instagram. “The battles, the sacrifices, the mental breakdown, the disbelief in myself, the injuries, the surgeries, the mistakes and to be able to stay strong and bounce back from being in hell was all worth the ride I appreciate the fans and my friends and family for helping me get through all of that while fighting to get it done.
“The sacrifices yall made for me throughout the years will never go unnoticed and unappreciated I can't thank you all enough for everything y'll got me through. Thank You.”

Robinson is the longest-tenured player on the Knicks championship roster. He joined the team as a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, playing through some difficult losing seasons in New York.
Now eight seasons later, Robinson is an NBA champion.
