Indiana Fever Announce Concerning Injury Update Before Tempo Game

The Indiana Fever enter Tuesday night's matchup against the Toronto Tempo riding their first three-game winning streak of the season. After victories over the Washington Mystics, Chicago Sk and Connecticut Sun, Indiana has climbed to 8-5 and hold the sixth best record in the WNBA.

Just as importantly, the Fever have largely avoided the injury issues that derailed stretches of their 2025 campaign. Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Sophie Cunningham and the rest of Indiana's core have remained available for most of the season, allowing head coach Stephanie White to build continuity as the Fever continue their push up the standings.

Clark has been managing a lingering back issue for several weeks, but she has continued to play through it.

On Monday, however, Fever fans were dealt a concerning update.

According to Indiana's injury report, rookie guard Raven Johnson is listed as questionable with a left ankle injury after tweaking her ankle during practice, per IndyStarSports' Chloe Peterson. Clark, meanwhile, was once again listed as probable with her back issue, a designation that has become routine in recent weeks, though she continues to suit up for games.

While Clark's status does not appear to be a major concern, Johnson's injury will be worth monitoring over the next 24 hours.

The Fever selected Johnson in the first round of the 2026 WNBA Draft after a standout career at University of South Carolina, where she established herself as one of the nation's premier perimeter defenders and playmakers. Although her offensive numbers are not utterwordy, her defense, court vision and ability to impact winning basketball made her one of the most highly regarded guards in the draft class.

Johnson has played all 13 games for the Fever this season, and is averaging 4.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists off the bench. Even when she is not filling up the box score, she provides the team with valuable backcourt depth, elite defense and another ball-handler capable of easing pressure on Clark and Mitchell.

Indiana hosts the Tempo on Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Fever will hope Johnson's injury proves minor as they attempt to carry their recent momentum into a crucial stretch of the schedule.
