Aliyah Boston Speaks Candidly on Indiana Fever's Issue

Aliyah Boston and the Indiana Fever are on a three-game winning streak, but they have struggled to close out games. The three-time All-Star addressed the issue, stressing that the team continues to work on it.

During her media availability on Monday, Boston highlighted her pride in her teammates for continuing to battle.

"Yeah, I think we're still working on that part, not putting ourselves in that situation," Boston said. But I'm still proud of us. Closing games, it doesn't have to be pretty, I think it just also gives us different things to look at in the film room. But I'm super proud of us the way that we've been able to close those."

Indiana faced the Washington Mystics on June 18 and led by as much as 17 points. The home team rallied back and took a one-point lead with 4.3 seconds remaining. Caitlin Clark became the hero of the night, knocking down a clutch three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left that proved to be the game-winner.

The Fever also had a chance to win in regulation against the Chicago Sky three days later. However, they gave up a triple to Skylar Diggins that forced overtime. While they still prevailed 114-106, their late-game defensive miscues could come back to haunt them later in the season.

Boston has been on a tear this campaign, averaging 17.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. She and her team aim to extend their winning streak to four games when they take on the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday.
