George Pickens Shows Maturity With Commitment To Cowboys For 2026 Season
The Dallas Cowboys may not have to worry about George Pickens being disgruntled this upcoming season.
Pickens was outstanding for the Cowboys during the 2025 season, hauling in 93 passes for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. After the front office in Dallas placed the franchise tag on Pickens, there were rumblings that he could be traded during the NFL Draft. However, "America's Team" opted to retain him for the 2026 season.
There were some concerns that Pickens would hold out from attending mandatory minicamp, but he reported to the facility this Tuesday.
Pickens, who is set to make $27.3 million on the franchise tag, let reporters know that he isn't too worried about his contract situation. In fact, his sights are set on winning a Super Bowl title.
"What's important to me is winning," Pickens said. "Like I said from the beginning, I always wanna bring a Super Bowl to a group of guys that never had that feeling. That's really the most important part to me."
Cowboys are all in on Pickens.
Now that Pickens is back at the facility, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is fired up to get his offense rolling.
"Really great visits with George," Schottenheimer said. "Fired up to have him back, he's fired up to be here. He'll do all the mock, he'll do all the individual, and we'll just keep him out of team, just let him watch. He'll be coach Pickens today during the team period."
The Cowboys averaged 27.7 points per game last season due to their high-flying duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Dallas will gets its 2026 season started on Sept. 13 against the New York Giants.
