Raptors recap (June 18): Ridgefield 9, Portland 8
Highlights - Jackson Weber (Arizona State) led off the top of the ninth inning with a home run and the Raptors (13-5) took the final game of the West Coast League series against the Pickles (10-8) at Walker Stadium. It was a back-and-forth affair as Portland took a 4-0 lead after the second inning, the Raptors answered with five runs in the third and one more in the fourth. The Pickles tied the game at 6-6 with a two-run fifth inning. Ridgefield again answered to go up 8-6 after seven innings, and Portland came back to tie with a two-run eighth.
At the plate - Zach Wadas (Loyola Marymount) was 2 for 5 with a two-run home run in the third inning and a run-scoring double in the seventh. ... JT Summers (Oregon) was 2 for 5 with an RBI. ... Brock Leitgeb (Michigan) hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and scored three times in the game.
On the mound - Mateo Rojas (Canada College) picked up the win in relief. He pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit with two strikeouts.
