Celebrity softball is returning to Cheney Stadium.

Seattle Seahawks standouts Rashid Shaheed and Uchenna Nwosu will host the fifth annual Seattle All-Star Classic on Saturday afternoon, a celebrity home run derby and softball game partnered with South Sound nonprofits.

The family-friendly event in Tacoma’s backyard features vendors, live music, a children’s play area, a beer and wine garden and private suites, SASC’s website said. Former Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf hosted the inaugural event in 2022, which has since featured the likes of Geno Smith, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Kam Chancellor.

Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. on July 11, and tickets are available on Ticketmaster, starting at $26.95 for standard admission.

“I’ve heard a lot about the energy around this event, and I’m ready to experience it firsthand,” Shaheed said in an event release. “It’s going to be a fun, competitive matchup, and I’m looking forward to getting out there and putting on a show for the fans.”

The SASC is “Filling the Gap” in 2026, a community initiative that works with local nonprofits to solve inequities in education, youth sports, academic leadership, economic empowerment and food or family insecurities.

Shaheed, 27, famously returned the opening kickoff of the 2025 NFC Divisional playoff against San Francisco 95 yards for a touchdown at Lumen Field, sparking Seattle’s Super Bowl run. The Seahawks brought him back in March, inking the receiver to a three-year, $51 million contract.

Nwosu, 29, rumbled 45 yards for a defining, pick-six interception return that sealed Seattle’s 29-13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
