This week: Wyndham Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, North Carolina.
In the field: Puyallup’s Ryan Moore, Olympia’s Andres Gonzales, University Place’s Michael and Andrew Putnam, Tacoma’s Troy Kelly and Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley.
Third-round scores: Moore shot a 5-under-par 65, Kelly had a 1-under 69, and Stanley shot a 1-over 71.
Position: Moore (10-under 200) is tied for 16th, Kelly (5-under 205) is tied for 47th, and Stanley (2-under 208) is tied for 61st – all trailing leader Jason Gore (15-under 195).
Recap: Maybe Moore’s third-round score is a sign of things to come Sunday. He fired a pair of 65s back in 2009 on his way to winning the Wyndham Championship, which was his first PGA Tour tournament title. He had six birdies Saturday — four on the back nine, including chip-ins at No. 14 (37 feet) and No. 18 (42 feet from right rough). … Kelly will attempt to do something Sunday that he has accomplished just one other time on the PGA Tour – shoot all four rounds in the 60s. He did that at the 2012 Greenbrier Classic, which he lost in a playoff to Ted Potter Jr. He had consecutive bogeys at Nos. 2-4 but made four birdies the rest of the way, including a final one at No. 17 (wedge approach shot to 3 feet). … Stanley was 1 under through 13 holes on his round, but he stumbled with late bogeys at No. 14 (chip shot from right apron came up 10 feet short) and No. 18 (drive went into trees to the right).
Tee times Sunday: Stanley at 6:15 a.m. (PDT), Kelly at 7:09 a.m. and Moore at 9:55 a.m.
