Tracking Ryan Moore in the FedEx Cup playoffs for Sept. 20, 2015

This week: BMW Championship, Thursday through Sunday, Conway Farms Golf Club, Lake Forest, Illinois.

Fourth-round score: 3-under-par 68.

Position: Moore (8-under 276) tied for 28th, 14 strokes behind winner Jason Day (22-under 262).

Recap: Moore had a good tournament — but not a good enough finish to send him to the Tour Championship. A 73 on Saturday all but doomed the Cascade Christian graduate, so now he will have to try and qualify for all of the major tournaments next season through other means. He birdied the first two holes Sunday with a wedge approach shot to 7 feet on No. 1 and a 7-iron tee shot to 5 feet on the par-3 No. 2 hole. His only two birdies the rest of the way were on par-5 holes. Moore needed to move into the top 30 in the standings to advance in the FedEx Cup playoffs; he was 39th after Sunday.

Next: Moore’s season is over. He will likely debut in the 2015-16 season at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open starting Oct. 22 at TPC Sumerlin in Las Vegas.
