Tracking local golfers on the PGA Tour for Oct. 24
This week: Shriners Hospital for Children Open, Thursday through Sunday, TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada
In the field: Puyallup’s Ryan Moore, Olympia’s Andres Gonzales and Gig Harbor’s Kyle Stanley.
Third-round scores: Moore shot a 3-under-par 68, and Stanley shot a 2-over 73
Positions: Moore (5-under 208) is tied for 38th, and Stanley (3-under 210) is tied for 54th — both trailing leader Brett Stegmaier (13-under 200). Gonzales (2-over 144) missed the cut Friday.
Recap: Moore finally got on a run of making birdies, with four of them on his opening nine holes — capped by a 12-foot putt at No. 18. But on No. 3, he hit it into the rough to the right of the green and made bogey. Two holes later, his tee shot at the par-3 fifth landed in a greenside bunker, and he made a final bogey to fall back. … Stanley was even par through 16 holes, but he dumped his tee shot at the par-3 17th hole into the left-side pond and walked off with double bogey.
Tee times Sunday: Stanley at 8:38 a.m. and Moore at 9:41 a.m.
