Sounders gameday: FC Dallas at Seattle

Sounders gameday

FC DALLAS (11-5-4; 37 points) at SEATTLE (5-10-2; 17 points)

7:30 p.m., Wednesday, CenturyLink Field

TV: Ch. 13. Radio: 97.3-FM.

Head to head: Seattle leads, 9-4-5. But the Toros won the Western Conference semifinal playoff series against the Sounders last season and captured their previous regular-season matchup at home in May (2-0).

Notes: What was once the most intimidating place for visiting teams in Major League Soccer — Seattle — has become just another road trip. The last-place Sounders have already lost five times on their home field, their worst showing in franchise history. And they have gone 271 minutes without scoring a goal, dating to Jordan Morris’ tally in the 89th minute of a 2-0 victory against San Jose on May 7. Meanwhile, no opponent has scored against the conference-leading Toros in the past 315 minutes, third-longest shutout streak in the MLS this season. The Sounders are coming off a season-high 22 shots in a 1-0 loss to the L.A. Galaxy on Saturday. Dallas has a conference-best four road wins this season, although CenturyLink has not been kind to the Toros over the years. They have won once during the regular season in eight games.

Next: Sunday at Portland, noon, Providence Park.
