Five UW Huskies receive All-Pac-12 first-team honors
Washington had five players named to the All-Pac-12 first team on Tuesday in junior tight end Hunter Bryant, senior offensive linemen Trey Adams and Nick Harris, junior defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike and junior defensive back Elijah Molden.
The Huskies also had four players named to the second team in junior defensive lineman Ryan Bowman, junior defensive lineman Joe Tryon, senior defensive back Myles Bryant and sophomore kicker Peyton Henry. Junior running back Salvon Ahmed, redshirt freshman defensive back Kyler Gordon and senior punter Joel Whitford received honorable mention. Freshman defensive back Trent McDuffie was given honorable mention for the freshman defensive player of the year.
Harris and Adams were each named to the first team for the second time. Bryant, who was healthy for a full season for the first time in his UW career, finished with 52 receptions for 825 yards and three touchdowns. He recently declared for the 2020 NFL Draft and won’t be participating in the Las Vegas Bowl against Boise State on Dec. 21.
Onwuzurike finished the regular season with 41 tackles, five tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and a blocked punt. Molden led the Huskies with 70 tackles, 13 pass breakups and three interceptions. He also had two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Washington State had one first-team selection in sophomore kicker Blake Mazza. Senior quarterback Anthony Gordon and sophomore offensive lineman Abe Lucas were both named to the second team. Sophomore linebacker Travion Brown also received second-team honors as an all-purpose player.
The Cougars had four honorable mention selections: Sophomore running back Max Borghi, redshirt junior offensive lineman Josh Watson, senior wide receiver Easop Winston and redshirt junior linebacker Jahad Woods.
As for the conference’s major awards, Utah running back Zack Moss was named the offensive player of the year and Cal linebacker Evan Weaver was selected defensive player of the year. Freshman offensive player of the year went to USC quarterback Kedon Slovis while Oregon defensive lineman Kayvon Thibodeaux received defensive player of the year.
Utah’s Kyle Whittingham was named coach of the year after guiding the Utes to their second consecutive Pac-12 South title and an 11-2 regular season.
