Eatonville’s Caden Jumper commits to UW Huskies

It didn’t take Caden Jumper long to make a decision.

Two days after receiving an offer from Washington, the Eatonville star committed to the Huskies. A three-star recruit, Jumper (6-3, 245) also had offers from Army and UC Davis. He reportedly committed to UW as a H-back/fullback.

Jumper is UW’s fourth commit in the Class of 2021, joining five-star quarterback Sam Huard, three-star cornerback Zakhari Spears and three-star defensive lineman Kuao Peihopa. Peihopa committed to the Huskies on Wednesday.

Jumper played several roles for Eatonville as a junior last season. He threw for 992 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also had 115 carries for 1,117 yards and 13 touchdowns to go along with nine receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he finished with 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks and one interception.

“I’ve always just been that type of utility player,” Jumper told The News Tribune in October. “If you need me on the line, I’ll go play on the line. It’s just wherever the coach wants me.”

Said Eatonville coach Gavin Kralik: “He’s made it clear from the get-go that he’ll do whatever is best for the team. He’s not a college quarterback. He’s a great college prospect, but he knows he’s not a college quarterback. So for him, it’d be better for him to not play quarterback, from a college exposure standpoint. But he’s just willing to do whatever we ask.”
