The Washington Huskies have added their first commitment to the 2023 class.

Bakersfield (Calif.) High School running back Tybo Rogers announced his commitment to the program Monday evening on social media.

Rogers is considered a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com composite rankings, a top-100 running back nationally and the No. 64 player in California in the class.

He also held offers from 14 Division I schools, including Pac-12 programs Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon State, UCLA, USC and Utah.

Rogers averaged 11.2 yards per carry for Bakersfield last fall, finishing with his junior season with 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games, per MaxPreps. He had five 100-plus yard games.

He ended the season with 2,217 all-purpose yards, also returning kickoffs and punts, as well as adding 614 yards and six touchdowns on 31 catches. He had three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in five games playing defensive back.

The Huskies currently have seven scholarship running backs on their roster, including junior Richard Newton, sophomore Cameron Davis, three redshirt freshmen in Sam Adams II, Caleb Berry and Jay’Veon Sunday, redshirt freshman Emeka Megwa, who joined the program early last fall after reclassifying to the 2021 class, and sophomore transfer Aaron Dumas, who is a member of the incoming 2022 class.
