QB Troy Williams will transfer from Huskies football team; three others enroll

Quarterback Troy Williams, who will be a third-year sophomore in 2015, will transfer from the Washington Huskies football team, the school announced in a statement.

Williams appeared in five games in 2014 and made one start against Arizona State in place of Cyler Miles. He came to UW as a four-star recruit out of Narbonne High School in Harbor City, Calif., where he was an honorable mention Parade All-American as a senior.

Williams completed 23 of 36 passes for 176 yards with two interceptions in 2015, with most of that coming in severe weather conditions in his one start against ASU. He also rushed 16 times for 25 yards and a touchdown.

With Williams gone, the Huskies currently have four quarterbacks on their roster -- Miles, fourth-year junior-to-be Jeff Lindquist, redshirt freshman K.J. Carta-Samuels and incoming freshman Jake Browning, who enrolled at UW on Monday and will participate in spring practices.

Two other players also enrolled at UW today -- defensive back Ezekiel Turner, who signed with the Huskies in December, and offensive lineman Devin Burleson, who signed a letter of intent in February but delayed his enrollment. Both will participate in spring practices.
