This week: CIMB Classic, Thursday through Sunday, Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
World ranking: 54th.
2015-16 earnings: $148,539 (22nd on the PGA Tour).
Last tournament: The Puyallup native tied for 43rd at last week’s Shriners Hospitals for Children’s Open (5-under-par 279) in Las Vegas, where he resides. Now he moves on to an international tournament where he is the two-time defending champion. In fact, he is the only golfer to ever win a PGA Tour event at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, going 31-under over the past two seasons to win both events. He is trying to become the first golfer since Steve Stricker (John Deere from 2009-11) to win a tournament three years in a row. “There is almost less pressure in some ways,” Moore said. “I won the last two years, so I don’t have that much to prove, necessarily. … I didn’t feel great about my golf game last year coming into this tournament. Something about this tournament just kind of seemed to bring the best out of me. I hope that happens a third time.”
First-round tee time: Moore teed off at 6:15 p.m. (PDT) Wednesday from the first tee.
