TNT All-Area player of the year

Calley Heilborn, Auburn Riverside, sr.: Make it two in a row for Heilborn. TNT All-Area player of the year for the second consecutive season after earning her second state title with the Ravens last year and going for a third this season. She has played in at least the state semifinals every year.

TNT coach of the year

Lina Randall, White River: Down year? That didn’t happen. White River went from making the 2A state semifinals a year ago to looking like it has a chance to repeat that thanks to the fourth-year coach and White River alum’s leadership.

TNT ALL-AREA FIRST TEAM

LIBERO

Kasey Woodruff Curtis

L — Kasey Woodruff, Curtis, sr.: If you’re going to spike a ball, send it as far away from Woodruff as possible. Multiple league coaches say she’s the best passer and serve-receiver there is. One coach: “Hands down the best defensive player I have seen for a long time.” Western Washington commit is a three-time first-team All-Area selection.

MIDDLE BLOCKERS

MB — Kava Durr, Emerald Ridge, sr.: Colorado State commit is 4A SPSL MVP because she’s a game changer. Huge vertical and crushing spike (she has 389 kills, 209 digs, 55 blocks). Selected to AVCA Under Armour High School All-American team as an honorable mention.

Zyonna Fellows

MB — Zyonna Fellows, Mount Tahoma, sr.: Led the Pierce County League in kills (237) and blocks (110) and will be the first Mount Tahoma female athlete ever to receive a scholarship to play at a Pac-12 school (Arizona). In four years, has gone from uncoordinated “baby giraffe” to explosive blocker.

OUTSIDE HITTERS

Kennedy Croft Tumwater

OH – Kennedy Croft, Tumwater, sr.: Gonzaga commit is now a libero because she re-injured a stress fracture in her leg and can’t jump. But before that she had 250 kills (5.9 per set) and was on track to break her own school record (for the third time). She’s also a fantastic libero – 4.9 digs per set since moving there in the district tournament.

OH – Peyton Foster, Graham-Kapowsin, sr.: She’s not only G-K’s go-to hitter (17.2 kills per match), but also the best serve-receive passer and averages 13.3 digs per match and 1.8 blocks. Pierce College commit has led Eagles to three consecutive state appearances.

OH – Abbie Jackson, Charles Wright, jr.: Missed three matches because of a concussion but the University of Houston commit’s impact is undeniable. Led team to Nisqually League title playing every position except libero. Said one 4A coach: “She has a cannon. I think she hits harder than some guys.”

SETTERS

Ciera Zimmerman

S – Hannah Pukis, Bellarmine Prep, sr.: Washington State commit had surgery to repair rotator cuff in the spring and didn’t quite have the season she had a year ago as 4A SPSL MVP. But still so well-rounded and so dangerous. Had 20 assists, 15 kills, 15 digs in a match against Tumwater this year.

S – Ciera Zimmerman, Auburn Riverside, sr.: Coach Chris Leverenz has seen few competitors like Zimmerman. And few setters who can do as much as her. The Colorado State commit was the 1B state tournament MVP as a sophomore at Christian Faith and has been just as effective for 4A AR.
