Winners of the South Sound high school Athletes of the Week for boys and girls basketball (Dec. 23 to Dec. 29)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school basketball Athletes of the Week poll (Dec. 23 to Dec. 29). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported their local student-athletes. Check back next week for a new poll.

This week’s winners are:

Boys: Devin Aseli, Steilacoom

Girls: Joclyen Wyatt, Wilson

BOYS

Cobi Campbell, Puyallup: Scored 75 points (25 points per game) in three games in the T-Town Throwdown holiday tournament, highlighted by a seven 3-pointer, 35 point effort against Lincoln of Seattle.

Peter Erickson, Federal Way: Scored 20 points against Wilson in the T-Town Throwdown championship game and was named the tournament MVP.

Damani Green, Wilson: Scored 19 points against Federal Way and 22 points against West Seattle in the T-Town Throwdown holiday tournament, sealing a runner-up finish for the Rams.

Tanner Wallen, White River: Scored 24 points in a 76-64 loss to Port Angeles on Fridya and 30 points in a 75-64 win over La Center on Saturday.

Donelle Irvin, Stadium: Senior scored 33 points in 70-56 win over Foss on Monday.

Devin Aseli, Steilacoom: Junior forward scored 23 points in 80-76 win over Lakes on Saturday.

Jordan McCray, Lakes: Scored 27 points in 80-76 loss to Steilacoom on Saturday.

Ryan Ballah, Spanaway Lake: Scored 19 points in 79-41 win over Decatur on Friday.

Asjon Anderson, Mount Tahoma: Scored 25 points in 80-57 win over Kingston on Friday and 15 points in 64-54 win over Black Hills on Saturday.

GIRLS

Esmeralda Morales, Bethel: Scored 18 points against Wilson in the T-Town Throwdown championship game against Wilson and was named the tournament MVP.

Joclyen Wyatt, Wilson: Averaged 16 points per game in the T-Town Throwdown holiday tournament, scoring 20 points against South Kitsap, 19 against Redmond and nine against Bethel.

Ella Brubaker, Curtis: Scored 29 points in 67-48 loss to Newport on Friday.

Atreonia Garner, Spanaway Lake: Scored 29 points in 81-31 win against Bremerton on Fridy and 22 points in 66-55 loss to Sammamish on Saturday.

Piper Bauer, Peninsula: Scored 24 points in 76-48 win over Kennedy Catholic on Saturday.

Maddie Plevyak, Yelm: Scored 33 points in 82-48 win over Puyallup on Friday.

Aaliyah Alexander, Todd Beamer: Scored 23 points in 55-25 win over Lincoln on Friday and 18 points in 59-40 win over Curtis on Saturday.

Hope Hassmann, Tahoma: Scored 18 points in 60-30 win over Scottsdale Christian Academy on Friday and 27 points in 58-55 loss to Lake Washington on Saturday.
