Winners of the South Sound basketball Athletes of the Week (Dec. 30 to Jan. 5)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school basketball Athletes of the Week poll (Dec. 30 to Jan. 5). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported their local student-athletes. Check back next week for a new poll.

Alex Glenn, Foss: Scored 16 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer, in 55-54 win over Steilacoom on Friday.

Isaiah Devane, Steilacoom: Scored 18 points in 55-54 loss to Foss on Friday.

Asher Raquiza, Gig Harbor: Scored 21 points in 77-43 win over North Thurston on Friday.

Kai Johnson, Olympia: Scored 26 points in 87-61 win over Puyallup in SPSL 4A play on Saturday.

Brandin Riedel, Capital: Scored 22 points in 67-58 loss to Fort Vancouver and 16 points in 54-45 loss to Skyview.

Cayden McDaniel, Wilson: Scored 19 points in 78-54 win over Foss on Saturday.

Jace Barrett, Rogers: Scored 20 points in 68-57 win over Heritage (Idaho) on Saturday.

Jaylen Scott, Stadium: Scored 23 points in 69-65 loss to Nathan Hale.

GIRLS

Julia Bordeaux, Bellarmine: Scored 31 points and hauled in 11 rebounds in 62-55 loss to Rogers.

Isabella Lund, Tumwater: Scored 18 points in 52=45 win over Sequim.

Kiara Maxwell, Curtis: Scored 21 points and tallied seven assists and three steals in 68-42 win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Aaliyah Alexander, Todd Beamer: Scored 22 points in 62-39 win over Kentridge.

Karina McMillan, Sumner: Scored 17 points in 51-37 win over South Kitsap on Saturday.
