Winners of the South Sound basketball Athletes of the Week (Jan. 13 to Jan. 19)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school basketball Athletes of the Week poll (Jan. 13 to Jan. 19). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported their local student-athletes. Check back next week for a new poll.

This week’s winners are:

Boys: Josh Lear, Sumner

Girls: Julianna Walker, Annie Wright

BOYS

Luke Holcomb, Puyallup: Scored 20 points, including six 3-pointers, in 63-60 win over Sumner in 4A SPSL play.

Kaleb Lichau, Peninsula: Scored 10 points, had 11 rebounds, six blocks and an assist in 59-36 win over crosstown rival Gig Harbor.

Dylan Preston, Bonney Lake: Averaged 28 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists versus Stadium and Spanaway Lake.

Jalen Barbee, Franklin Pierce: Had 27 points and 20 rebounds in win against River Ridge in 2A SPSL.

Josh Lear, Sumner: Scored 33 points in upset win over Olympia.

Leo Ruiz, Mount Tahoma: Had 15 points, 17 rebounds, two assits and a steal in 59-57 win over Lincoln to help T-Birds sweep season series over Abes.

Damani Green, Wilson: Had 19 points in 83-52 win over Lakes and 18 points in 71-55 win over Bonney Lake.

Isaiah Devane, Steilacoom: Had 19 points in 74-71 loss to White River and 17 points in 57-20 win over Tyee.

GIRLS

Callie Stevens, Bellarmine Prep: Had 29 points, including seven 3-pointers (six of which came in the first quarter), six assists, five steals and three rebounds in 71-39 win over Curtis in 4A SPSL.

Rylie Peschek, Gig Harbor: Freshman scored 20 points and hauled in 16 rebounds in win over Timberline.

Aaliyah Walker, Wilson: Scored 20 points in 55-38 win over Bonney Lake.

Hailey Rath, Eatonville: Had 43 points, three assists, two blocks and a rebound in 65-44 win over Clover Park.

Nicole Lindblom, Capital: Had 32 points, including a school record eight 3-pointers, in win over Yelm and 23 points in win over Central Kitsap.

Alyssa Smith, Bethel: Had 31 points, eight rebounds, eight steals and six assists in win over Lakes.

Julianna Walker, Annie Wright: Had 42 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and eight steals in win over Cascade Christian.
