Winners of the South Sound basketball Athletes of the Week (Feb. 10 to Feb. 16)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school basketball Athletes of the Week poll (Feb. 10 to Feb. 16). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported their local student-athletes.
This week’s winners are:
Boys: Josh Joseph, Mount Tahoma
Girls: Piper Bauer, Peninsula

BOYS
Josh Joseph, Mount Tahoma: Scored the game-winning basket as time expired to beat Gig Harbor and send the T-Birds to the state tournament regional round for the first time in 14 years.
Josh Lear, Sumner: Scored 19 points in win over Auburn to send the Spartans to the 4A state tournament regional round.
Jalen Barbee, Franklin Pierce: Scored 33 points in 69-49 win over Olympic.
Kaleb Lichau, Peninsula: Had 13 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists in win over Central Kitsap.
Cobi Campbell, Puyallup: Had 28 points and eight assists in win over Kentridge.
Kai Johnson, Olympia: Had 18 points in loss to Union.
Asher Raquiza, Gig Harbor: Scored 20 points in 3A district loss to Mount Tahoma.
Amar Rivers, Auburn: Had 24 points in loss to Sumner in 4A districts.
Omari Maulana, Life Christian: Scored 25 points in 76-58 playoff win over Onalaska.
Damani Green, Wilson: Scored 17 points in 3A district playoff win over Capital.
GIRLS
Caitie Burns, Bellarmine: Scored 14 points in win over Skyview in 4A district playoffs.
Jenai Ancheta, Rogers: Scored 13 points in loss to Union in 4A districts.
Piper Bauer, Peninsula: Had 30 points, nine rebounds and three assists against Yelm.
Meghan Edwards, Gig Harbor: Scored 22 points, six rebounds, five assists in 55-40 win over Spanaway Lake.
Bayleigh Harder, Yelm: Scored 20 points in 75-71 win over Peninsula in 3A districts.
