2020 All-State high school girls basketball team

The News Tribune/The Olympian’s 2020 All-State girls basketball team features the top players across the state, spanning all classifications, from 4A to 1B.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Hailey Van Lith, Cashmere

Guard, 5-7, senior

The Louisville signee, five-star recruit and consensus top-10 player in the nation finished her highly decorated high school career with a runner-up finish in the Class 1A state tournament. Two-time state Gatorade Player of the Year averaged 34 points and 10 rebounds per game. Four-time gold medalist with Team USA.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Felice Orrell, Central Valley

Orrell, a 2002 Central Valley grad who played on two state champion teams under coach Dale Poffenroth in 2001 and 2002, coached her alma mater to the Class 4A title in her first season as the high school’s coach. After a second-place finish in the 3A/4A Greater Spokane League behind Mount Spokane, Central Valley stormed through the state tournament, beating No. 1 seed Woodinville in the championship game, 59-55.

FIRST TEAM

Mia Hughes, Woodinville

Forward, 5-10, junior

The 4A KingCo MVP led Woodinville to a 28-1 record and a runner-up finish in the 4A state tournament at the Tacoma Dome, where she was named the state-tournament MVP. Averaged 22.2 points and 8.4 rebounds for the Falcons.

Meghan Fiso, Garfield

Forward, 5-10, senior

After transferring from West Seattle to Garfield for her senior season, the University of Michigan commit put together her best season yet, averaging 24.7 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals for the Bulldogs. Metro and 3A state tournament MVP.

Talia Von Oelhoffen, Chiawana

Forward, 5-11, junior

The Mid-Columbia Conference MVP averaged 27.2 points and 9.3 rebounds, leading the Riverhawks to a 23-5 record and and appearance in the 4A state tournament. Considering Stanford, UCLA, UConn and others.

Jayda Noble, Mount Spokane

Guard, 6-0, senior

The UW commit was the Greater Spokane League MVP in her senior season, averaging 10.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.8 steals for the Wildcats. Led Mount Spokane to a 21-4 record, and a first-place finish in the GSL, which included a 51-40 win over 4A state champion Central Valley.

Keeli Burton-Oliver, Eastlake

Center, 6-3, senior

KingCo 4A first-team selection averaged 19.8 points and 14.9 rebounds for the Wolves this season, leading Eastlake to a 14-12 record. Arizona State bound.
