Winner of The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week (Oct. 4 to 9)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school Athlete of the Week poll (Oct. 4 to 9). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Alexa Thoms, Gig Harbor soccer

Thoms, a senior forward for the Tides, had two goals and an assist against Yelm and scored three goals in a game against Capital. Gig Harbor is 10-0-1 this fall with a 9-0-1 mark in the Class 3A South Sound Conference and looks like a strong contender once the 3A state tournaments rolls around.
