Winner of The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week (April 4 to 9)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school Athlete of the Week poll (April 4 to 9). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Colton Anardi, Auburn baseball

Anardi threw a complete game shutout in 10-0 win over Decatur on Thursday, April 7. The senior has put together a dominant season thus far, posting a 3-0 record and 0.42 earned run average in 33 innings pitched, striking out 30 batters and walking just three.

Jake Bresnahan, Sumner baseball: Hit three home runs in 15-12 win over rival Puyallup on Wednesday.

Colton Anardi, Auburn baseball: Threw a complete game shutout in 10-0 win over Decatur on Thursday.

Alli Kimball, Peninsula softball: Pitched a shutout against crosstown rival Gig Harbor, striking out 12 Tides’ batters in the win.

Tyler Logan, Curtis baseball: Pitched a complete game shutout against a vaunted Sumner lineup in a 1-0 win on Friday, throwing seven innings, allowing just two hits, striking out seven and walking none on 77 pitches.

Ella Borsheim, Bellarmine track: Set a personal record 10 minutes, 12.82 seconds in the 3,200 meters at the Arcadia Invitational.

Gracie Ream, Puyallup softball: Struck out 12 batters in 10-0 win over South Kitsap.

Ethan Coleman, Olympia track: Ran 8 minutes, 51.09 seconds at the Arcadia Invitational in California.

Tre Blassingame, Auburn basketball: Had 10 points, 11 rebounds and six steals in national invitational game against Norcross in Tampa, Florida and 13 points and 10 rebounds against Calvary Christian.

Payton Knowles, Peninsula baseball: Had three hits and an RBI in a 7-1 win over Port Angeles.

Gavin Yoder, Silas baseball: Had a double and an RBI in 5-2 win over Stadium on Tuesday, and drove in another run in a 15-5 win against Stadium the following day.

Adam Brooks, Puyallup baseball: Threw 6 and 1/3 innings in 6-2 win over Olympia on Tuesday, allowing five hits and striking out eight batters.
