Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Sept. 12 to 17)
Voting is now closed The News Tribune’s high school Athletes of the Week (Sept. 12-17). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winners are:
Navarre Dixon, Lincoln football and Samiah Shell Auburn Riverside soccer
Dixon rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries in a win over Camas. Shell, a UW commit, racked up five goals in the week, scoring three in a 9-0 win over Decatur and two more in a 7-0 win over Federal Way.

FOOTBALL
Damian Aalona, Yelm, jr. – Completed 17-of-20 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Central Kitsap.
Xavier Ahrens, Curtis, soph. — Vikings receiver racked up four touchdowns in 42-0 win over Bethel on Friday. On offense, caught five passes for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns and defensively, returned two interceptions for touchdowns of 84 and 35 yards.
D’Aryhian Clemons, Spanaway Lake, soph. – Rushed 13 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Mount Tahoma.
Navarre Dixon, Lincoln, jr. – Rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries in a win over Camas.
Beau Fualaau, Fife, sr. — Rushed 10 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns in win over Franklin Pierce. On defense, had four tackles and an interception.
Legend Galeai, Lakes, fr. – Completed 10-of-16 passes for 262 yards and one touchdown in a win over Bonney Lake.
Jaydus Green, Steilacoom, jr. – Caught four passes for 93 yards and three touchdowns in win over Orting at Lumen Field.
Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln, sr. – Completed 10-of-19 passes for 207 yards and rushed for 309 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in a win over Camas.
Job Kralik, Eatonville, sr. – Completed 4-of-6 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, added another 39 yards and a score on seven carries and finished 5-of-5 on extra point attempts in a win over Cascade Christian.
Will Landram, Gig Harbor, sr. – Completed 17-of-25 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Peninsula.
Dylan Norman, Eatonville, jr. – Rushed 28 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Cascade Christian.
Brayden Platt, Yelm, jr. — Rushed for 178 yards and five touchdowns on 11 carries and added four tackles, including one for a loss, on defense in a win over Central Kitsap. Has scored 13 total touchdowns through three games.
Leo Pulalasi, Lakes, sr. – Rushed seven times for 45 yards and two touchdowns, caught two passes for 90 yards and a touchdown and added 10 tackles, an interception and blocked a field goal attempt in a win over Bonney Lake.
Kyler Ronquillo, Yelm, sr. – Caught eight passes for 140 yards and a touchdown, added five tackles on defense and 88 yards on four punt returns in a win over Central Kitsap.
Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge, jr. — Completed 24-of-29 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns in 28-18 win over Sumner.
Isaac Smith, Peninsula, sr. — Rushed 12 times for 93 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Fish Bowl win against Gig Harbor. Also caught a 16-yard pass.
Matthew Spurbeck, Sumner, jr. — Rushed 19 times for 100 yards in 28-18 loss to Emerald Ridge.
Dorian Thomas, Kentridge, sr. — Chargers’ QB racked up six total touchdowns and 370 all-purpose yards, rushing for a touchdown, passing for three touchdowns and defensively, returning two interceptions for touchdowns in win over Decatur.
Jace Villers, Auburn Riverside, sr. – Finished with a receiving touchdown, interception return for a touchdown and a fumble recovery in a win over Thomas Jefferson.
Ki’Marree Washington, Lakes, sr. — Racked up 240 all-purpose yards, rushing 16 times for 137 yards and a touchdown and adding one catch for five yards and a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a win over Bonney Lake.
OTHER FALL SPORTS
Hailey Brockway, Graham-Kapowsin volleyball, sr. — Had 23 kills in 3-0 win over Bellarmine Prep and 17 kills in 3-0 win against Sumner. Averaging a state-leading 7 kills per set, per MaxPreps.
Cruize Corvin, Lakes cross country, sr. – Won the Fort Steilacoom Invitational with a personal-best time of 15:01.
Ella Ensign, Curtis volleyball, sr. — Racked up 23 kills in 3-1 win over Olympia and 15 kills in 3-0 win over Rogers.
Katelyn Galloway, Stadium cross country, soph. – Won the PLU Invitational with a personal-best time of 18:09.8.
Elektra Higgins, Peninsula cross country, soph. – Finished second at the Fort Steilacoom Invitational with a personal-best time of 18:31.4.
Morgan Miner, Kentwood soccer, sr. — Scored a goal in an 11-0 win over Todd Beamer and added another two goals in an 8-1 win over Auburn.
Samiah Shell, Auburn Riverside soccer, sr. — UW commit racked up five goals in the week, scoring three in a 9-0 win over Decatur and two more in a 7-0 win over Federal Way.
Ivy Vindivich, Puyallup volleyball, sr. — Racked 11 kills in win over Kennedy Catholic and five in win over Ridgefield.
Grace Wesenberg, Emerald Ridge volleyball, jr. — Outside hitter had 15 kills in 3-0 win over South Kitsap.
Conner Wirth, Emerald Ridge cross country, sr. – Won the PLU Invitational with a personal-best time of 15:19.5.
