Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 3 to Oct. 8)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s high school Athletes of the Week in football and other fall sports (Oct. 3 to Oct. 8). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winners are:

Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin football and Anna Saldana, Stadium volleyball

Superales, Graham-Kapowsin’s quarterback, completed 12-of-13 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Curtis in the 4A SPSL. Saldana, Stadium’s junior setter had 60 assists, nine aces, 16 digs and five kills in wins over Mount Tahoma and Bonney Lake.

FOOTBALL

Damian Aalona, Yelm, jr. — Completed 11-of-15 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns, and added 24 rushing yards on two carries in a 71-0 win over Capital.

Jah-Jah Abdullah, Mount Tahoma, jr. — Hauled in three catches for 94 yards and three touchdowns, caused and recovered a fumble for an 85-yard touchdown and added seven tackles in a 35-21 win over Bonney Lake.

Xe’ree Alexander, Kennedy Catholic, sr. — Had a 49-yard receiving touchdown, five tackles, including three for losses and a sack, and caused a fumble in a 56-14 win over Kentridge.

Ryder Alfrey, Auburn Mountainview, sr. — Had 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 34-0 win over Kentlake.

Jaycion Cain, Steilacoom, jr. — Rushed for 110 yards and five touchdowns on 12 carries, averaging 9.2 yards per attempt, and caught two passes for 26 yards in a 43-22 win over Clover Park.

D’Aryhian Clemons, Spanaway Lake, soph. — Rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries, averaging 9.4 yards per attempt, in a 48-28 win over Silas.

Malachi Durant, Puyallup, jr. — Hauled in 10 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-24 win over Olympia.

Luke Elliott, Washington, sr. — Completed 15-of-29 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in a 31-24 win over Orting.

Ty Evans, Timberline, jr. — Blazers’ defensive lineman had eight tackles, five for loss and two sacks in a 41-14 win over North Thurston.

Breydan Fisher, Washington, sr. — Hauled in 10 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-24 win over Orting.

Devon Forehand, Kennedy Catholic, soph. – Completed 17-of-25 passes for 272 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-14 win over Kentridge.

Darrell Gipson, Timberline, jr. — Outside linebacker had six tackles, three tackles for loss and a 50-yard fumble return — his second defensive TD of the year — in a 41-14 win over North Thurston.

Dylan Goldstrom, Fife, sr. — Trojans’ quarterback completed 6-of-10 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown and rushed six times for 78 yards in win over White River.

Amari Goodfellow, Auburn, sr. — Trojans’ quarterback completed 14-of-14 passes for 222 yards and five touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the first half in win over Kent Meridian.

Jaydus Green, Steilacoom, jr. — Hauled in four catches for 150 yards and a touchdown, averaging 37.5 yards per reception, and added three tackles in a 43-22 win over Clover Park.

Karson Holt, Enumclaw, jr. — Hauled in four catches for 102 yards and three touchdowns in a 51-12 win over Franklin Pierce.

Gabarri Johnson, Lincoln, sr. — Completed 12-of-15 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 188 yards and four more scores on seven carries in a 49-6 win over Stadium.

Will Landram, Gig Harbor, sr. — Completed 12-of-22 passes for 230 yards and four touchdowns, and added five carries for 61 yards and two scores in a 54-19 win over Gig Harbor.

Boone Leverett, Gig Harbor, soph. — Tides’ kicker converted field goals from 28 and 24 yards and 6-of-7 extra point attempts in win over River Ridge.

Drew Macdonald, Steilacoom, soph. — Completed 13-of-20 passes for 334 yards and one touchdown, and added a two-point conversion run in a 43-22 win over Clover Park.

Derrik McKinney, Mount Tahoma, sr. — Completed 9-of-13 passes for 158 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 84 yards on 14 carries in a 35-21 win over Bonney Lake.

Gavin Nash, Gig Harbor, sr. — Hauled in four catches for 129 yards and three touchdowns in 54-19 win over River Ridge.

Emmit Otero, Enumclaw, sr. — Rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in a 51-12 win over Franklin Pierce.

Leo Pulalasi, Lakes, sr. — Rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on six carries and added two catches for 72 yards and two more scores and a two-point conversion run in a 52-7 win over Battle Ground.

Zach Robertson, Fife, jr. — Rushed for two touchdowns and had a receiving touchdown in 50-6 win over White River.

Kaden Rolfsness, Puyallup, soph. — Completed 18-of-34 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 44 yards on six carries in a 29-24 win over Olympia.

Cade Sando, Cascade Christian, sr. — Completed 17-of-29 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-6 win over Bellevue Christian.

Aden Schaler, Yelm, sr. — Caught three passes for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns and defensively, had six tackles and one tackle for loss in win over Capital.

Marc Semuda, Clover Park, sr. — Rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries, and added 23 receiving yards in a 43-22 loss to Steilacoom.

Treyvon Silva, Franklin Pierce, sr. — Rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, averaging 9.9 yards per attempt, and added five tackles in a 51-12 loss to Enumclaw.

Isaac Smith, Peninsula, sr. — Rushed 11 times for 88 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for 86 yards and two touchdowns in 45-13 win over Central Kitsap.

Tre Smith, Yelm, sr. — Caught a 46-yard touchdown pass and added a 102-yard interception return for a score and two tackles in a 71-0 win over Capital.

Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin, jr. — Eagles’ QB completed 12-of-13 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns in win over Curtis.

Gunnar Trachte, Enumclaw, jr. — Completed 13-of-17 passes for 240 yards and five touchdowns in win over Franklin Pierce.

Byson Vasquez, Cascade Christian, jr. — Collected a team-high 17 tackles and one sack, and had 50 all-purpose yards and a rushing touchdown in a 23-6 win over Bellevue Christian.

Jed Walling, Cascade Christian, sr. — Hauled in five catches for 137 yards and a touchdown and added five tackles in a 23-6 win over Bellevue Christian.

Ki’Marree Washington, Lakes, sr. — Rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on five carries, averaging 26.2 yards per attempt, in a 52-7 win over Battle Ground.

Maclane Watkins, Kennedy Catholic, sr. — Hauled in eight catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns in a 56-14 win over Kentridge.

Ray Wright, Yelm, sr. — Rushed for a touchdown and two-point conversion, and added seven tackles, four for losses and two sacks in a 71-0 win over Capital.

OTHER FALL SPORTS

Hailey Brockway, Graham-Kapowsin volleyball, sr. — Eagles’ outside hitter had 28 kills in 3-2 loss to Emerald Ridge and 13 kills in 3-0 win over Bethel.

Cruize Corvin, Lakes cross country, sr. — Took second at the Nike Hole in the Wall XC Invitational at Lakewood High School, clocking in at 14 minutes, 56.8 seconds.

Ella Ensign, Curtis volleyball, sr. — Had 14 kills in 3-0 win over Sumner.

Peyton Ensign, Curtis volleyball, soph. — Had a kill, four aces, 10 digs and 26 assists in 3-0 win over Sumner.

Ella Hamry, Bonney Lake volleyball, sr. — Senior libero led Bonney Lake to its first win over district rival Sumner in seven years, collecting an ace, two kills, two assists and 10 digs in three sets. In loss to Stadium, had two aces, an assist and 16 digs.

Blythe Manson, Emerald Ridge volleyball, sr. — Had 21 kills, an ace and five digs in win over Graham-Kapowsin.

Elise Miller, Gig Harbor soccer, soph. — Scored a pair of goals in 8-0 win over Yelm.

Reese Morkert, Gig Harbor cross country, sr. — Took first place in the Nike Hole in the Wall XC Invitational at Lakewood High School, clocking in at 18 minutes, 33.1 seconds.

Coral Munoz, Stadium volleyball, sr. — Senior outside hitter had 10 kills, two aces and 10 digs in 3-1 win over Mount Tahoma on Monday and 14 kills, one ace and 15 digs in a 3-2 win over Bonney Lake on Wednesday.

Caitlyn Riggs, Auburn Riverside soccer, soph. — Had a goal in 8-0 win over Thomas Jefferson and four goals in 5-0 win over Kentlake.

Anna Saldana, Stadium volleyball, jr. — Junior setter had 60 assists, nine aces, 16 digs and five kills in wins over Mount Tahoma and Bonney Lake.

Samiah Shell, Auburn Riverside soccer, sr. — Had two goals and an assist in 8-0 win over Jefferson and four assists in 5-0 win over Kentlake.

Sophia Sheppard, Puyallup volleyball, sr. — Had nine digs in 2-0 win over Olympia.

Hailey Shride, Peninsula soccer, soph. — Sophomore midfielder had a hat trick in 6-0 win over Capital on Thursday.

Latham West, Bonney Lake cross country, fr. — Freshman took first in a five-team meet at Wright Park in Tacoma on Wednesday, clocking in at 19 minutes, 20.3 seconds.
