Winner of The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week (Jan. 16 to 21)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athlete of the Week (Jan. 16 to 21). Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Dalton Brown, Tahoma boys basketball

Brown scored 21 points and added eight rebounds in a win over Sumner, had 11 points in a win over Kentridge, and 21 points in a win over Kentwood.

Jalon Blackwell, Kentridge boys basketball, sr. — Scored a game-high 21 points in an upset win over top-ranked Mount Si.

Omarion Boston, Lincoln boys basketball, sr. — Scored 21 points and added nine rebounds in a loss to Roosevelt, had 20 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Stadium, and 20 points in a win over Silas.

Luke Brewer, Tumwater boys basketball, sr. — Scored 26 points and added four rebounds and three assists in a win over Skyview, had a double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals in a win over Rochester, and 22 points, four rebounds and five steals in a win over Aberdeen.

Regan Brewer, Tumwater girls basketball, jr. — Scored 10 points and added six rebounds, four assists and four steals in a win over Kelso, had 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and 14 steals in a win over Rochester, and 14 points, eight assists and seven steals in a win over Aberdeen.

Dalton Brown, Tahoma boys basketball, jr. — Scored 21 points and added eight rebounds in a win over Sumner, had 11 points in a win over Kentridge, and 21 points in a win over Kentwood.

Ne’Quan Brown, Stadium boys basketball, sr. — Posted a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, and added three assists in Stadium’s first win over Lincoln since 2006.

Shane Burton, Bonney Lake boys basketball, sr. — Scored 17 points and added four rebounds and eight assists in a win over Mount Tahoma.

Lily Cavanaugh, Tahoma girls basketball, jr. — Scored 10 points in a loss to Camas, a game-high 14 points in a win over Kentridge and game-high 20 points in a win over Kentwood.

Shayla Cordis, Timberline girls basketball, fr. — Scored 42 points and added nine rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win over Yelm, and had 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in a loss to Capital.

Adam Davis, Tahoma boys basketball — Scored eight points in a win over Sumner, posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Kentridge, and had six points in a win over Kentwood.

Oliviyah Edwards, Lincoln girls basketball, fr. — Scored a game-high 16 points in a win over Silas.

Andreas Engholm, Olympia boys basketball, sr. — Posted a double-double with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Rogers, and had 15 points and seven rebounds in a win over Rainier Beach.

Parker Gerrits, Olympia boys basketball, sr. — Scored 20 points and added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in a win over Rogers, and had a game-high 28 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a win over Rainier Beach.

Kaylia Heidelberg, Peninsula girls basketball, jr. — Scored 28 points and added three rebounds and two assists in an overtime loss to Rogers, had nine points and three rebounds in a win over Capital, and 25 points, two rebounds and two assists in a win over Yelm.

Brooklyn Hicks, Timberline boys basketball, sr. — Posted a triple-double with 36 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, two steals and three blocks in a win over Yelm, and had 33 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a win over Capital.

Josiah Johnson, Curtis boys basketball, sr. — Scored a game-high 17 points off the bench in a 71-46 win over Sumner on Thursday.,

Shae Looker, Rogers girls basketball, sr. — Scored a team-high 17 points in an overtime win over Peninsula.

Riley Peschek, Gig Harbor girls basketball, sr. — Posted a triple-double with 13 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over River Ridge, and had a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Central Kitsap.

Jaylen Petty, Auburn boys basketball, soph. — Scored a game-high 22 points in a win over Auburn Mountainview.

Taylor Schwab, Gig Harbor girls basketball, jr. — Scored 22 points and had five rebounds, two assists and four steals in a win over River Ridge, and had 24 points, four rebounds and three assists in a win over Central Kitsap.

Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake girls basketball, sr. — Posted a pair of double-doubles with 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks in a win over Union, and 20 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals in a win over Mount Tahoma.

Isaiah Sonntag, Puyallup boys basketball, jr. — Scored a game-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers, in a win over Kentlake.

Kiara Stone, Bellarmine Prep girls basketball, jr. — Scored 13 points in a win over Eastlake and 19 points in a win over Olympia.

Taylor Teeple, Bellarmine Prep girls basketball, sr. — Scored a team-high 17 points in a win over Eastlake.

Carter Williford, Mount Tahoma boys basketball, jr. — Scored 34 points and added five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a loss to Bonney Lake, and had nine points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals in a win over Stadium.
