Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Sept. 18 to 23)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for fall high school sports contests played Sept. 18-23. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winners are:
Ty Evans, Timberline football and Natalie Fish, Auburn Riverside soccer
Evans racked up 14 tackles, including seven for loss and two sacks in win over Central Kitsap. Fish scored a goal and had an assist in win over Kentwood.

Damian Aalona, Yelm — Completed 8-of-16 passes for 158 yards and three TDs in a win over River Ridge.
Cale Allen, Olympia — Rushed for 140 yards and three TDs on 22 carries, completed 3-of-6 passes for 49 yards and another TD and added five tackles on defense in a win over South Kitsap.
Brison Bailey, Mount Tahoma — Rushed for 40 yards and one TD on 13 carries, and added three catches for 48 yards in a win over Lincoln.
Elijah Baird, Auburn Mountainview — Completed 16-of-30 passes for 267 yards and three TDs, and added nine carries for 90 yards and one TD in a win over Thomas Jefferson.
Tristan Baker, Lakes — Hauled in four catches for 74 yards and one TD, and collected 116 all-purpose yards in a win over Stadium.
Tate Bowen, White River — Caught five passes for 109 yards and two TDs, and added a rushing TD in a win over Foss.
Drew Carlson, Olympia — Rushed for 104 yards and one TD on eight carries, and added three catches for 49 yards and another TD in a win over South Kitsap.
Emarion Clayton, Stadium — Collected 131 all-purpose yards, including leading the Tigers with 82 rushing yards on 13 carries, in a loss to Lakes.
Navarre Dixon, Emerald Ridge — Rushed for 162 yards and one TD on 23 carries in a loss to Curtis.
Kyson Douglas, Puyallup — Hauled in seven catches for 168 yards and two TDs in a loss to Sumner.
Baylen Erdmann, Auburn — Completed 15-of-18 passes for 328 yards and five TDs and added a rushing TD in a win over Mount Rainier.
Ty Evans, Timberline — Racked up 14 tackles, including seven for loss and two sacks in win over Central Kitsap.
Ryland Geldermann, Gig Harbor — Rushed for 94 yards and two TDs on 11 carries in a win over Capital.
Ronaldo Gonzalez-Salazar, Timberline — Rushed for 192 yards and one TD in a win over Central Kitsap.
Maurice Gosby Jr., Lincoln — Rushed for 44 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries in loss to Mount Tahoma.
Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge — Hauled in eight catches for 107 yards and two TDs, and added an interception on defense in a loss to Curtis.
Steele Isaacs, Sumner — Rushed for 129 yards and one TD on 27 carries in a win over Puyallup.
Caiden Isaacson, Franklin Pierce — Rushed for 74 yards and three TDs on four carries in a win over Steilacoom.
Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 92 yards and one TD on 14 carries and caught six passes for 96 yards and another TD in a win over Decatur.
Anthony Kiamco, Yelm — Rushed for 110 yards and one TD on two carries, and added a 35-yard interception return TD, blocked kick and seven tackles on defense in a win over River Ridge.
Hunter Klumpar, Eatonville — Completed 9-of-17 passes for 291 yards and four TDs in a win over Bellevue Christian.
Rocco Koch, Curtis — Competed 15-of-19 passes for 273 yards and three TDs, and added 31 carries for 212 yards and three TDs in a win over Emerald Ridge.
Marcus Lloyd, Bonney Lake — Rushed for 85 yards and one TD on 14 carries, and added a 35-yard interception return TD on defense in a win over Spanaway Lake.
Roy Lockley lll, Bethel — Rushed for 115 yards and four TDs on 14 carries in a win over Rogers.
Drew Macdonald, Steilacoom — Completed 18-of-29 passes for 283 yards and three TDs in a loss to Franklin Pierce.
Parker Mady, Curtis — Collected 246 all-purpose yards, leading the Vikings with 10 catches for 162 yards and two TDs and adding a 75-yard punt return TD in a win over Emerald Ridge.
Drake Matthies, Gig Harbor — Caught five passes for 119 yards and one TD in a win over Capital.
Carson McCall, Orting — Rushed for 63 yards and one TD on eight carries and added three catches for 48 yards in a loss to Enumclaw.
Elijiah Mcchristian, Lakes — Caught two passes for 87 yards, added three tackles, one tackle for loss and an interception on defense, and tallied 131 all-purpose yards in a win over Stadium.
Kai Mingming, Cascade Christian — Rushed for 51 yards and three TDs on four carries, and added three tackles on defense in a win over East Jefferson.
Josiah Morley, Steilacoom — Hauled in 11 catches for 181 yards and two TDs in a loss to Franklin Pierce.
Ky Nation, Eatonville — Caught four passes for 203 yards and three TDs in a win over Bellevue Christian.
Jeremiah Olione, Franklin Pierce — Rushed for 138 yards and one TD on 17 carries, and added four two-point conversions in a win over Steilacoom.
Brayden Palmer, Bonney Lake — Completed 6-of-8 passes for 91 yards and one TD, and added 15 carries for 118 yards and three TDs in a win over Spanaway Lake.
Benji Park, Gig Harbor — Completed 17-of-23 passes for 200 yards and three TDs in a win over Capital.
Brayden Paulino, Puyallup — Completed 21-of-40 passes for 380 yards and four TDs in a loss to Sumner.
Brayden Platt, Yelm — Rushed for 57 yards and two TDs on three carries, caught a 35-yard TD and added four tackles on defense in a win over River Ridge.
Tate Quarnstrom, Rochester — Rushed for 186 yards and three TDs in a win over Shelton.
Anthony Quintanilla Jr., Mount Tahoma — Caught the game-winning TD pass in a win over Lincoln.
Zaydrius Rainey-Sale, Bethel — Caught three passes for 98 yards and one TD in a win over Rogers.
Aaden Rathburn, White River — Completed 13-of-16 passes for 168 yards and two TDs, and rushed for another TD in a win over Foss.
Tristen Rebar, Sumner — Completed 16-of-20 passes for 165 yards and two TDs, and rushed for 64 yards and another TD on nine carries in a win over Puyallup.
Kage Repenn, Tahoma — Recorded a rushing TD and kickoff return TD in a win over Kentwood.
Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin — Completed 33-of-44 passes for 326 yards and three TDs in a win over Bellarmine Prep.
Kooper Tasler, Stadium — Threw two TD passes in a loss to Lakes.
Kene Tuivaiave, Washington — Rushed for three TDs in a win over Clover Park.
Seamus Twohey, Enumclaw — Rushed for 23 yards and two touchdowns in win over Orting.
Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside — Rushed for 166 yards and two TDs on 17 carries, and added four tackles and a tackle for loss on defense in a win over Kent-Meridian.
Luvens Valcin, Auburn — Caught nine passes for 214 yards and four TDs and added five carries for 47 yards in a win over Mount Rainier.
Byson Vasquez, Cascade Christian — Rushed for 42 yards on two carries, caught three passes for 66 yards and a TD, and added 16 tackles, 7.5 sacks, five caused fumbles and a safety on defense in a win over East Jefferson.
Tre Walker, Mount Tahoma — Completed 11-of-17 passes for 188 yards and three TDs, and rushed for 42 yards on 11 carries in a win over Lincoln.
Mande Wanlemvo, Auburn Mountainview — Caught seven passes for 165 yards and two TDs, and added five tackles and an interception on defense in a win over Thomas Jefferson.
Andrew Wold, Auburn Riverside — Completed 13-of-23 passes for 233 yards and four TDs, and added five carries for 36 yards and another score in a win over Kent-Meridian.
Jabez Woods, Graham-Kapowsin — Hauled in 15 catches for 174 yards and one TD, and collected 251 all-purpose yards in a win over Bellarmine Prep.
FALL SPORTS
Bella Baird, Enumclaw soccer — Scored two goals in win over Steilacoom.
Sophie Blake, Gig Harbor soccer — Scored two goals in win over North Thurston.
McCoy Brooks, Enumclaw cross country — Placed 11th at The Mook XC Invite at Alderbrook (Ore.) with a season-best time of 15:21.9, which ranks fifth in the state this fall.
Dani Brown, Puyallup volleyball — Had 12 kills, four aces and four blocks in 3-2 win over Curtis.
Hannah Byers, Olympia volleyball — Had 25 kills (6.3/set) in win over Bellarmine Prep.
Natalie Fish, Auburn Riverside soccer — Scored a goal and had an assist in win over Kentwood.
Ellie Mullenix, Tumwater soccer — Had a goal and two assists in win over Shelton.
Josie Schampera, Enumclaw soccer — Scored a goal in win over Steilacoom and another goal in loss to Fife.
Emalyn Shaffer, Tumwater soccer — Scored a goal in win over W.F. West and two goals in win over Shelton.
Kinley Smith, Timberline volleyball — Had 20 kills (6.7/set) in win over Yelm and 16 kills in loss to Capital.
Grace Wesenberg, Emerald Ridge volleyball — Had 18 kills in win over South Kitsap and 11 kills in win over Bethel.
Grace Williams, Capital volleyball — Had 15 kills in loss to Peninsula and 20 kills in win over Timberline.
Bridget Woodruff, Bellarmine volleyball — Had 19 kills in loss to Olympia and 19 kills in win over Rogers.
Alison Whalen, Bellarmine Prep cross country — Placed 10th at The Mook XC Invite at Alderbrook (Ore.) with a season-best time of 18:18.44, which ranks ninth in the state this fall.
