Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 2 to 7)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for high school sports contests played Oct. 2 to 7. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winners are:
Tate Bowen, White River football and Kayla Pope, Tumwater soccer
Bowen caught eight passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Fort Vancouver. Pope scored two goals in win over Centralia.

FOOTBALL
Jackson Almond, Cascade Christian — Completed 9-of-12 passes for 214 yards and five touchdowns, rushed for 68 yards on six carries and added five tackles, a tackle for loss and interception return touchdowns on defense in a win over Bellevue Christian.
Brison Bailey, Mount Tahoma — Rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in a win over Bonney Lake.
Elijah Baird, Auburn Mountainview — Completed 12-of-15 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, and added 93 rushing yards and another touchdown on four carries in a win over Kentlake.
Tate Bowen, White River — Caught eight passes for 213 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Fort Vancouver.
Jabez Boyd, Life Christian — Completed 12-of-20 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns and added an interception on defense in a win over South Whidbey.
Landron Brauer, Enumclaw — Had three catches for 69 yards and a touchdown and an interception on defense in a win over Washington.
Elijah Carney, Auburn Mountainview — Caught four passes for 147 yards and a touchdown, and added eight tackles on defense in a win over Kentlake.
Malachi Durant, Graham-Kapowsin — Caught six passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Curtis.
Alele Fa’apito, Graham-Kapowsin — Rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in a win over Curtis.
Ayden Fink, Gig Harbor — Caught five passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, and added five tackles, a tackle for loss and fumble recovery on defense in a win over River Ridge.
Vince Foster, Steilacoom — Caught seven passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Clover Park.
Gannon Greenan, Orting — Caught two passes — both for touchdowns — for 47 yards in a win over Foss.
Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge — Caught five passes for 79 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Bethel.
Spencer Holloway, Decatur — Completed 12-of-25 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdowna in a win over Mount Rainier.
Karson Holt, Enumclaw — Caught six passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Washington. Also had a sack on defense.
Gio Kafentzis, Emerald Ridge — Caught five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Bethel.
Sione Kaho, Lincoln — Completed 18-of-27 passes for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Stadium.
Anthony Kiamco, Yelm — Rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, and added six tackles and a tackle for loss in a win over Capital.
Rocco Koch, Curtis — Completed 10-of-21 passes for 144 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.
Roy Lockley III, Bethel — Rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in a loss to Emerald Ridge.
Drew Macdonald, Steilacoom — Completed 13-of-18 passes for 260 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Clover Park.
Parker Mady, Curtis — Caught seven passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.
Jordy Masiala, Puyallup — Caught five passes for 77 yards and a touchdown in win over Olympia.
Drake Matthies, Gig Harbor — Caught six passes for 92 yards and three touchdowns in a win over River Ridge.
Maddox Miller, Cascade Christian — Caught five passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Bellevue Christian.
Josiah Morley, Steilacoom — Caught four passes for 103 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Clover Park.
Nick Neil, Puyallup — Caught five passes for 49 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Olympia.
Tony Olione Silva, Franklin Pierce — Rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in a win over Fife.
Benji Park, Gig Harbor — Completed 15-of-24 passes for 318 yards and six touchdowns in a win over River Ridge.
Brayden Paulino, Puyallup — Completed 12-of-20 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Olympia.
Dekker Plaster, White River — Hornets kicker was 9-of-9 on PAT attempts — tying the program record for made PATs in a game — and added a field goal in a win over Fort Vancouver.
Brayden Platt, Yelm — Rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries, and added 10 tackles and three tackles for loss on defnese in a win over Capital.
Cedric Ragland, Timberline — Completed 2-of-2 passes for 43 yards and a TD, rushed four times for 54 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in win over North Thurston.
Kage Repenn, Tahoma — Caught four passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and added 39 rushing yards on three carries in a win over Federal Way.
Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Completed 19-of-23 passes for 477 yards and six touchdowns in a win over Bethel.
Bryant Spangler, Tahoma — Rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in a win over Federal Way.
Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin — Completed 20-of-26 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns and added 14 carries for 92 yards and another score in a win over Curtis.
Jemani Teplasy, Lincoln — Caught six passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Stadium.
Kelly Time Jr., Spanaway Lake — Had six tackles and three interceptions, including a pick-six, in win over Silas.
Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside — Rushed for 153 yards and five touchdowns on 16 carries in a win over Todd Beamer.
Tre’ Walker, Mount Tahoma — Completed 7-of-10 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown, and added five carries for 32 yards and another score in a win over Bonney Lake.
Nehemiah Washington, Decatur — Rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in a win over Mount Rainier.
Tristan Waterman, White River — Completed 17-of-21 passes for 329 yards and five touchdowns in a win over Fort Vancouver.
FALL SPORTS
Anne Anderson, Bonney Lake soccer — Had two assists in win over Lakes and scored two goals and had an assist in win over Spanaway Lake.
Ramera Bradley, Lakes soccer — Scored two goals in loss to Bonney Lake.
Elizabeth Filiaga, Lakes volleyball — Against Bonney Lake, middle blocker had five blocks, five kills and three digs. Against Mount Tahoma, had two aces, two blocks, seven kills and nine digs. In nonleague match against Federal Way, was 4-of-4 serving, had five blocks, 12 kills and 10 digs.
Karin Heikkila, Gig Harbor soccer — Had an assist against River Ridge and scored two goals against Central Kitsap.
Calli Mickelson, Tenino soccer — Scored four goals and had an assist in win over Hoquiam and scored three goals and had an assist in win over Ilwaco on Saturday.
Kayden Perigo, Capital soccer — Scored one goal against Peninsula on Tuesday and had two goals in a win over Timberline on Thursday.
Kayla Pope, Tumwater soccer — Scored two goals in win over Centralia on Thursday.
Rachael Remnet, Central Kitsap soccer — Secured the shutout in win over North Thurston while scoring free kicks in games against North Thurston and Gig Harbor.
Jaylee Reynolds, Bonney Lake soccer — Had a goal and two assists in win over Lakes and had two goals and an assist in win over Spanaway Lake.
Caitlyn Riggs, Auburn Riverside soccer — Scored a goal in win over Kentlake on Thursday.
Diya Thomas, Kentwood soccer — Scored a goal and had an assist in loss to Tahoma on Thursday.
