Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 16 to 21)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for fall high school sports contests played Oct. 16 to 21. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winners are:

Kyson Douglas, Puyallup football and Amelia Herrmann-Scholbe, Annie Wright volleyball

Douglas rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in a win over Bellarmine Prep. Herrmann-Scholbe had seven kills and seven aces in win over Vashon Island on Monday and eight kills and an ace against Cascade Christian on Wednesday.

FOOTBALL

Damian Aalona, Yelm — Completed 9-of-13 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Peninsula.

Xavier Ahrens, Curtis — Caught seven passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in a win over South Kitsap.

Jackson Almond, Cascade Christian — Completed 8-of-9 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for a 77-yard touchdown in a win over Vashon Island.

DJ Bielza, Auburn — Completed 14-of-24 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown, and added 19 carries for 148 yards and another score in a win over Todd Beamer.

Malik Burns, Spanaway Lake — Recorded a school-record 102-yard fumble recovery touchdown in a win over Washington.

Kooper Clark, Tumwater — Rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on six carries in a win over Rochester.

DJ Darling, Gig Harbor — Caught six passes for 156 yards and a touchdown in a win over Central Kitsap.

Navarre Dixon, Emerald Ridge — Rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, and added a fumble recovery on defense in a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.

Tristan Donovan, Enumclaw — Rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on six carries in a win over Clover Park.

Kyson Douglas, Puyallup — Rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in a win over Bellarmine Prep.

Malachi Durant, Graham-Kapowsin — Caught two touchdown passes in a win over Emerald Ridge.

Deonjae Ervin, Mount Tahoma — Caught three passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Silas.

Luke Faccone, Puyallup — Kicked two field goals of 28 and a school-record 50 yards, and converted 4-of-4 PAT attempts in a win over Bellarmine Prep.

Devon Forehand, Kennedy Catholic — Completed 14-of-18 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Tahoma.

Christian Goode, Franklin Pierce — Rushed for 256 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries in a win over Foss.

Maurice Gosby Jr., Lincoln — Rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, and added five catches for 66 yards in an overtime win over Lakes.

Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge — Caught five passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.

Spencer Holloway, Decatur — Completed 10-of-17 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 107 yards and another score on eight carries in a win over Kent-Meridian.

Steele Isaacs, Sumner — Rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in a win over Bethel.

Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, and added two catches for 57 yards and another score in a win over Tahoma.

Ethan Kastner, Tumwater — Completed 5-of-7 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Rochester.

Hunter Klumpar, Eatonville — Completed 11-of-13 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Elma.

Rocco Koch, Curtis — Completed 14-of-25 passes for 213 yards and three touchdowns, and added 19 carries for 159 yards and two more scores in a win over South Kitsap.

Anotine Lee, Kentwood — Rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in a loss to Federal Way.

Marcus Lloyd, Bonney Lake — Caught four passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Stadium.

Parker Mady, Curtis — Caught four passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, added three carries for 35 yards and had an 84-yard punt return touchdown in a win over South Kitsap.

Carson McCall, Orting — Rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on nine carries, caught three passes for 89 yards and had a 36-yard passing touchdown, and caused and recovered a fumble on defense in a win over Steilacoom.

Exavier Mcchristian, Lakes — Completed 19-of-35 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns in an overtime loss to Lincoln.

Tristen Rebar, Sumner — Completed 13-of-19 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for another score in a win over Bethel.

Brayden Palmer, Bonney Lake — Completed 5-of-6 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns, and added 93 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in a win over Stadium.

Colton Paulson, Enumclaw — Caught two passes for 46 yards and a touchdown, and added a fumble recovery touchdown on defense in a win over Clover Park.

Benji Park, Gig Harbor — Completed 19-of-27 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Central Kitsap.

Brayden Platt, Yelm — Rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries, and added 10 tackles and three tackles for loss in a win over Peninsula.

Aaden Rathbun, White River — Completed 26-of-43 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for another score in a win over Fife.

Kaden Rolfsness, Puyallup — Completed 2-of-2 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown, and added 80 rushing yards and another score on 16 carries in a win over Bellarmine Prep.

Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Completed 22-of-33 passes for 343 yards and four touchdowns in a loss to Graham-Kapowsin.

Darius Sum, Stadium — Rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, and added a receiving touchdown in a loss to Bonney Lake.

Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin — Completed 19-of-24 passes for 256 yards and four touchdowns, and added 138 rushing yards and two more scores on 20 carries in a win over Emerald Ridge.

Joey Thomas III, Kennedy Catholic — Caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Tahoma.

Gunnar Trachte, Enumclaw — Completed 5-of-7 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns, and added four carries for 83 yards and another score in a win over Clover Park.

Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside — Rushed for 199 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries in a win over Auburn Mountainview.

Byson Vasquez, Cascade Christian — Caught three passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Vashon Island.

Tre’ Walker, Mount Tahoma — Completed 11-of-13 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns, and added three carries for 54 yards and two more scores in a win over Silas.

Nehemiah Washington, Decatur — Rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries in a win over Kent-Meridian.

Jabez Woods, Graham-Kapowsin — Caught 10 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Emerald Ridge.

FALL SPORTS

Danielle Brown, Puyallup volleyball — Middle had 10 kills, three aces, three assists and three blocks in win over Curtis and seven kills, eight aces, a block and three digs in win over Sumner.

Stella Conklin, Peninsula soccer — Had a goal in 1-1 tie against Gig Harbor and scored a goal in senior night win over Timberline, bringing her season tally to six goals.

Amelia Herrmann-Scholbe, Annie Wright volleyball — Outside hitter had seven kills and seven aces in win over Vashon Island on Monday and eight kills and an ace against Cascade Christian on Wednesday.

Elise Miller, Gig Harbor soccer — Scored a hat trick with three goals in a 5-0 win over North Thurston.

Summer Murphy, Tahoma soccer — Scored a goal in 4-0 win over Federal Way and had a goal and two assists in 5-0 win over Kennedy Catholic on Thursday.

Malia Oden, Annie Wright volleyball — Middle hitter had 12 kills and three blocks in win over Vashon Island on Monday and had nine kills and an ace against Cascade Christian on Wednesday.

Kayden Perigo, Capital soccer — Scored two goals in win over River Ridge on Tuesday.
