Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 23 to 28)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for fall high school sports contests played Oct. 23 to 28.

Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winners are:

Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside football and Kayden Perigo, Capital soccer

Umi-Tuato’o rushed for 109 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries in a 3A NPSL championship game win over Auburn. Perigo scored three goals in win over North Thurston and added an assist against Gig Harbor.

FOOTBALL

Damian Aalona, Yelm — Completed 10-of-17 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Gig Harbor.

Coen Cronk, Olympia — Caught four passes for 123 yards and a touchdown, and added an interception on defense in a win over Bellarmine Prep.

Felix Diaz, Mount Tahoma — Rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in a win over Lakes.

Malachi Durant, Graham-Kapowsin — Caught five passes for 61 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Bethel.

Luke Faccone, Puyallup — Connected on field goals of 32 and 34 yards, including the game-winner in overtime in a win over Curtis.

Kyler Gillette, Bonney Lake — Rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in a win over Silas.

Darrell Gipson, Timberline — Had 20 tackles, including six tackles for loss, three pass breakups, a blocked punt, two catches for 38 yards and a touchdown in win over Peninsula.

Ronaldo Gonzalez-Salazar, Timberline — Rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in a win over Peninsula.

Christian Goode, Franklin Pierce — Rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries in a win over Washington.

Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge — Caught four passes for 122 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Rogers.

Steele Isaacs, Sumner — Rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries in a win over South Kitsap.

Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, and added three catches for 42 yards in a win over Mount Rainier.

Ethan Kastner, Tumwater — Completed 8-of-9 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Tahoma.

Rocco Koch, Curtis — Completed 13-of-18 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 112 yards and another score on 35 carries in a loss to Puyallup.

Julian Leblanc, Lakes — Caught four passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Mount Tahoma.

Antoine Lee, Kentwood — Rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries in a win over Kentridge.

Gavin Masters, Emerald Ridge — Rushed for 209 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in a win over Rogers.

Mason Moriarty, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on two carries, and added five catches for 63 yards and another score in a win over Mount Rainier.

Brayden Palmer, Bonney Lake — Completed 8-of-14 passes for 55 yards and a touchdown, and added 13 carries for 55 yards and another score in a win over Silas.

Brayden Platt, Yelm — Rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries, and added six tackles and two tackles for loss in a win over Gig Harbor.

Tate Quarnstrom, Rochester — Rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in a win over Tenino.

Cedric Ragland Jr., Timberline — Caught six passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in a win over Peninsula.

Tristen Rebar, Sumner — Completed 16-of-19 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown in a win over South Kitsap.

Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Completed 10-of-13 passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Rogers.

Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin — Completed 15-of-18 passes for 155 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Bethel.

Derek Thompson, Tumwater — Had a rushing touchdown and 80-yard interception return touchdown in a win over Tahoma.

Kelly Time Jr., Spanaway Lake — Had 15 tackles, including a tackle for loss in a loss to Lincoln.

Gunnar Trachte, Enumclaw — Completed 10-of-15 passes for 206 yards and four touchdowns in a win over White River.

Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside — Rushed for 109 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries in a win over Auburn.

Luvens Valcin, Auburn — Caught nine passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to Auburn Riverside.

Nehemiah Washington, Decatur — Rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries in a win over Federal Way.

Andrew Wold, Auburn Riverside — Completed 13-of-20 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Auburn.

FALL SPORTS

Cooper Boyle, Tahoma cross country — Won the 4A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 15 minutes, 42.4 seconds.

McCoy Brooks, Enumclaw cross country — Won the 2A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 15 minutes, 20.8 seconds.

Will Carroll, Annie Wright cross country — Won the 1A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 15 minutes, 49.7 seconds.

Brooklyn Finch, Peninsula soccer — Goalkeeper had two shutouts in 1-0 win over Central Kitsap and 1-0 district win over Prairie. Sophomore has eight clean sheets on the season and has conceded just eight total goals on the year.

Elektra Higgins, Peninsula cross country — Won the 3A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 17 minutes, 24 seconds.

Kennedy Marler, Gig Harbor soccer — Had a goal against Yelm, an assist against White River and two goals and an assist against Capital.

Jonathan Miles, Gig Harbor cross country — Won the 3A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 15 minutes, 45.6 seconds.

Haley Osborne, Enumclaw volleyball — Libero had 31 digs in win over White River on Thursday and 10 digs in win over Steilacoom on Monday.

Lauren Parry, Steilacoom soccer — Freshman striker set new school record with her 15th assist against Washington on Thursday and has 15 regular season goals.

Kayden Perigo, Capital soccer — Scored three goals in win over North Thurston on Tuesday and an assist against Gig Harbor.

Emma Tomlinson, White River cross country — Won the 2A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 19 minutes, 23.1 seconds.

Alison Whalen, Bellarmine Prep cross country — Won the 4A race at the Westside Classic at Chambers Creek, clocking in at 18 minutes, 13.8 seconds.

Jordyn Williams, Stadium soccer — Freshman midfielder scored two goals in league final against Bonney Lake to secure 3A PCL title and assisted two goals in playoff game against Kentlake to secure state tournament berth.
