Final results: These South Sound players put up big fantasy football numbers in 2023

Just before the high school football season began in late August, TNT high school sports reporters Jon Manley, Lauren Smith and Tyler Wicke drafted fantasy football teams of players from the South Sound.

We checked in at the midway point of the season on the standings, with Manley’s team holding a comfortable lead. Each team added five players apiece through a midseason waiver wire process and Smith’s team closed the gap toward the end of the season.

In the end, Curtis quarterback Rocco Koch’s production was too much to overcome.

Final standings:

Team Manley: 2774.04

Team Smith: 2734.74

Team Wicke: 2317.96

The scoring system used to determine totals for each team through the nine-game regular season was similar to how NFL fantasy football leagues are scored.

For example, for every 25 passing yards or every 10 rushing or receiving yards, players are awarded one point. For passing TDs, four points. For receiving, rushing, defensive and special teams TDs, six points. Some other defensive and special teams statistics also added or subtracted points.
