Winners of The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week (Oct. 30 to Nov. 4)
Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Athletes of the Week for fall high school sports contests played Oct. 30 to Nov. 4.
Voting will remain open until noon Wednesday.
Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.
This week’s winners are:
Peyton Davis, Tumwater football and Jordyn Williams, Stadium soccer
Davis rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on two carries in a district round win over Ridgefield. Williams had the late game-tying goal in 3-2 win over Peninsula in the 3A District 3/4 championship game.

Xavier Ahrens, Curtis — Caught seven passes for 74 yards and had a 74-yard interception return in a win over Tahoma.
Damian Aalona, Yelm — Completed 7-of-9 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Kent-Meridian.
Kajon Babcock, Emerald Ridge — Had a receiving touchdown and 85-yard kickoff return touchdown in a win over Bothell.
Brison Bailey, Mount Tahoma — Ran for 77 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, and caught two passes for 40 yards in win over West Seattle.
Jaycion Cain, Steilacoom — Rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries in a loss to Highline.
Peyton Davis, Tumwater — Rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on two carries in a win over Ridgefield.
Zach Gemar, Orting — Completed 5-of-10 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown, and added a rushing touchdown in a win over Olympic.
Maurice Gosby Jr., Lincoln — Rushed for 142 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries in a win over Auburn.
Tony Harste, Emerald Ridge — Caught six passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Bothell.
Indiana Jones, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries in a win over North Creek.
Ethan Kastner, Tumwater — Completed 7-of-8 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Ridgefield.
Anthony Kiamco, Yelm — Rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on five carries, and added two punt return touchdowns in a win over Kent-Meridian.
Rocco Koch, Curtis — Completed 12-of-19 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown, and added 244 rushing yards and five more scores on 17 carries.
Mason Moriarty, Kennedy Catholic — Rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on six carries, and caught two passes for 15 yards and another score in a win over North Creek.
Ky Nation, Eatonville — Caught six passes for 41 yards and a touchdown, and added a 38-yard passing touchdown in a win over Castle Rock.
Braylon Pope, Sumner — Caught two passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Battle Ground.
Elijah Pula, Bethel — Rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in a loss to Skyview.
Tristen Rebar, Sumner — Completed 13-of-18 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown in a win over Battle Ground.
Jake Schakel, Emerald Ridge — Completed 15-of-18 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for another score in a win over Bothell.
Jadeon Scranton, Lincoln — Rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries in a win over Auburn.
Shiron Seniours, Orting — Rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown on four carries, and added one catch for 33 yards in a win over Olympic.
Matthew Spurbeck, Sumner — Rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries in a win over Battle Ground.
Daveon Superales, Graham-Kapowsin — Completed 7-of-7 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Kamiak.
Cole Svendsen, Auburn Riverside — Caught three passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in a win over Juanita.
Jack Tangen, Cascade Christian — Completed 13-of-16 passes for 146 yards, rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries, and added a fumble recovery on defense in a win over Klahowya.
Thyrou Umi-Tuato’o, Auburn Riverside — Rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, and added 13 tackles on defense in a win over Juanita.
Luvens Valcin, Auburn — Rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown on five carries, and caught nine passes for 157 yards and another score in a loss to Lincoln.
Byson Vasquez, Cascade Christian — Rushed for 127 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries, caught seven passes for 70 yards, and added two interceptions on defense in a win over Klahowya.
Tre’ Walker, Mount Tahoma — Completed 11-of-15 passes for 80 yard sand a touchdown, and had seven carries for 107 yards and a touchdown in win over West Seattle.
Nehemiah Washington, Decatur — Rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries in a loss to Woodinville.
Andrew Wold, Auburn Riverside — Completed 11-of-17 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown in a win over Juanita.
Jabez Woods, Graham-Kapowsin — Caught two passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Kamiak.
FALL SPORTS
Cooper Boyle, Tahoma cross country — Placed third overall in the 4A boys race at the cross country state championships with a time of 15:47.5. Tahoma also took third as a team.
McCoy Brooks, Enumclaw cross country — Placed fifth overall in the 2A boys race at the cross country state championships with a time of 15:40.7.
Danielle Brown, Puyallup volleyball — Senior middle blocker had 13 kills, six blocks and two aces against Emerald Ridge and 15 kills, an ace, five blocks and six digs against Curtis.
Will Carroll, Annie Wright cross country — Won a state title in the 1A boys race at the cross country state championships with a time of 16:01.6.
Sydney Garonzik, Sumner soccer — Scored the game-winning goal in the 50th minute of Sumner’s 1-0 win over Tahoma in 4A District 3/4 championship game on Thursday.
Ruby Henry, Pope John Paul II cross country — Won a state title in the 2B/1B girls race at the cross country state championships with a time of 19:29.1. Pope John Paul II also won the team title.
Elektra Higgins, Peninsula cross country — Placed third overall in the 3A girls race at the cross country state championships with a time of 17:44.8.
Ashlyn May, Tahoma soccer — Scored a goal and had an assist in win over Curtis on Tuesday.
Jonathan Miles, Gig Harbor cross country — Placed fifth overall in the 3A boys race at the cross country state championships with a time of 15:46.4.
Lauren Parry, Steilacoom soccer — Scored the golden goal in 1-0 win over White River in districts to send the Sentinels to the 2A state tournament.
Emma Tomlinson, White River cross country — Placed ninth overall in the 2A girls race at the cross country state championships with a time of 19:16.9. White River also took fourth as a team.
Alison Whalen, Bellarmine Prep cross country — Placed third overall in the 4A girls race at the cross country state championships with a time of 18:17.6.
Jordyn Williams, Stadium soccer — Had the late game-tying goal in 3-2 win over Peninsula in the 3A District 3/4 championship game on Thursday.
