Power 5 commits, top recruits on football state playoffs rosters in Washington
The high school football state playoffs have arrived, and brackets are loaded with talented recruits.
Per 247Sports.com records, there are more than 75 players across the state listed on state playoff rosters entering the first round with at least one Division I football offer, and 28 who are either committed to a Power Five program, or hold multiple offers from Power Five schools.
Here’s a look at the state’s top 15 recruits, per 247Sports Composite ratings, who are listed on state playoff rosters this fall.
CLASS 4A
WR Malachi Durant, Graham-Kapowsin, sr. — Three-star recruit paces the Eagles’ high-flying offense with a team-leading 15 receiving TDs, and has 50 catches for 692 yards. Opened undefeated Graham-Kapowsin’s first game of the season with a 90-yard kickoff return TD. Durant is considered the No. 7 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 7 by Rivals and No. 16 by ESPN. Collected 11 offers from FBS programs before committing to Oregon State in June.
TE Noah Flores, Graham-Kapowsin, jr. — Blocks for an offense that averages 439.1 yards per game and has scored 56 touchdowns this season, and has added 31 catches for 329 yards and four touchdowns for the undefeated Eagles this season. Flores is considered the No. 5 recruit in the state in the 2025 class by 247Sports and No. 4 by Rivals. Three-star recruit holds offers from nine FBS programs.
CLASS 3A
OL Isendre Ahfua, O’Dea, sr. — Considered the state’s top recruit in the 2024 class by both Rivals and ESPN, and the No. 5 recruit in Washington by 247Sports, Ahfua blocks for an O’Dea rushing attack that averages 310 yards per game, 9.5 yards per carry and has tallied 43 rushing TDs in nine games. Four-star lineman is also nationally ranked on the Top247, Rivals250 and ESPN 300 recruiting lists.
RB Jason Brown, O’Dea, sr. — Four-star running back has 109 carries for 1,421 yards and 29 TDs through nine games for O’Dea this fall, averaging 157.9 yards per contest and 13 per carry. Brown is considered the No. 3 recruit in the state by 247Sports, and No. 2 by both Rivals and ESPN, and is also nationally ranked on the Top247, Rivals250 and ESPN 300 recruiting lists. Holds 23 offers from FBS programs, including 21 from Power Five schools.
LB Brayden Platt, Yelm, sr. — State’s top recruit in the 2024 class, per 247Sports, is a standout at running back and linebacker for the defending 3A state champion Tornados. Four-star recruit has 63 carries for 855 yards and 13 TDs, and 66 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and an interception through nine games played. Also considered the No. 4 recruit in Washington in the 2024 class by Rivals, and No. 3 by ESPN. Nationally ranked on the Top247, Rivals250 and ESPN 300 recruiting lists. Collected 20 offers from FBS programs before committing to Oregon in September.
TE Hogan Hansen, Bellevue, sr. — Four-star recruit a key blocker in Bellevue’s Wing-T, and has 10 catches for 215 yards and four touchdowns this season, as well as 23.5 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks at defensive end. Considered the No. 2 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 5 by Rivals and No. 4 by ESPN. Also nationally ranked on the Top247 and ESPN 300 recruiting lists. Collected 16 offers from Power Five programs before committing to Michigan last December.
ATH Jonathan Epperson, Auburn Riverside, jr. — Four-star recruit has 10 offers from FBS schools, including nine Power Five offers. Running back and linebacker has 31 carries for 240 yards and two TDs, as well as 26 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack in eight games played for the Ravens this fall. Considered the No. 3 recruit in the state in the 2025 class by 247Sports, No. 2 by Rivals and No. 3 by ESPN.
DB Kyan McDonald, O’Dea, sr. — Three-star defensive back also has eight catches for 190 yards and a touchdown on offense for O’Dea this season. Considered the No. 11 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 10 by Rivals and No. 6 by ESPN. Holds 10 offers from Power Five programs.
OL Marquise Thorpe-Taylor, Mount Tahoma, sr. — Blocks for a T-Birds offense that has piled up 3,500-plus yards and 43 total TDs this season — including averaging 243.6 yards per game on the ground with 34 rushing TDs. Has added 25 tackles, seven tackles for loss, eight quarterback hurries and three passes defended on defense. Three-star lineman is considered the No. 9 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 8 by Rivals and No. 7 by ESPN. Collected 12 offers from FBS programs before committing to UCLA in May.
ATH Rahshawn Clark, Garfield, sr. — Four-star recruit is a standout receiver and defensive back for the Bulldogs, and has 30 catches for 508 yards and six TDs on offense. Considered the No. 6 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 11 by Rivals and No. 8 by ESPN. Collected 14 offers from FBS programs before committing to Cal in July.
QB EJ Caminong, Garfield, sr. — Bulldogs quarterback has completed 94-of-140 passes for 1,383 yards and 11 touchdowns this fall. Three-star passer is considered the No. 8 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, and No. 9 by both Rivals and ESPN. Collected seven FBS offers and committed to Cal in June.

Patterson is considered the No. 12 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 6 by Rivals and No. 13 by ESPN. Collected seven FBS offers before committing to UCLA in May.
DB Tyson Weaver, Eastside Catholic, sr. — Standout on offense and defense for Eastside Catholic has 12 catches for 456 yards and four touchdowns, as well as 20 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions. Considered the No. 13 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 14 by Rivals and No. 11 by ESPN. Collected six FBS offers before committing to WSU in June.
OL Demetri Manning, Bellevue, jr. — A key blocker for a Bellevue Wing-T that averages 327 yards of total offense per game, Manning holds 12 offers from FBS schools, including 10 from Power Five programs. Three-star lineman is considered the No. 6 recruit in the state in the 2025 class by 247Sports and No. 5 by Rivals.
CLASS 2A
DB Marquawn McCraney, Highline, sr. — Three-star recruit has 29 catches for 780 yards and 11 TDs for the Pirates in nine games played this season, as well as 17 tackles, an interception and fumble recovery on defense. McCraney is considered the No. 15 recruit in the state in the 2024 class by 247Sports, No. 12 by Rivals and No. 10 by ESPN. Holds seven Power Five offers, and 10 total FBS offers.
