Winner of The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week (Feb. 12 to 17)

Voting is now closed for The News Tribune’s Girls Athlete of the Week for high school sports contests played Feb. 12 to 17. Thanks to everyone who voted and supported local student-athletes.

This week’s winner is:

Kyler Menza, Washington wrestling

She won the 100-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Madisyn Erickson, Yelm wrestling — Won the 120-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Kyla Frazier, Bellarmine basketball — Scored 23 points in win over Tahoma in 4A District 3/4 semifinal game on Wednesday.

Avery Hansen, Auburn basketball — Scored 20 points in win over Bonney Lake in 3A District 3/4 semifinals on Thursday and 13 points in win over North Thurston in championship game on Saturday.

Josie Jacobs, White River basketball — Scored a game-high 18 points in win over North Kitsap in 2A district semifinals and 11 points in win over Sammamish in championship game on Saturday.

Lilyana Lamothe, White River wrestling — Won the 130-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Zeta Lee, Lincoln wrestling — Won the 115-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Selena Mares-Castro, Auburn Riverside wrestling — Won the 170-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Marjorie McDaniel, Orting wrestling — Won the 115-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Kyler Menza, Washington wrestling — Won the 100-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Rory Murry, Auburn Riverside flag football — Led her team to back-to-back wins at quarterback over Mount Rainier and Evergreen, throwing for four passing touchdowns.

Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston basketball — Scored a team-high 17 points in loss to Auburn in 3A District 3/4 championship game on Saturday.

Bailey Parker, Peninsula wrestling — Won the 145-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Emmalee Secrest, Auburn basketball — Scored a game-high 19 points in win over North Thurston in 3A District 3/4 championship game on Saturday.

Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake basketball — Scored a game-high 22 points in loss to Auburn in 3A District 3/4 semifinals on Thursday.

Mira Sonnen, Peninsula wrestling — Won the 140-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Anna Spencer, Fife wrestling — Won the 135-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Kalee Swanson, Enumclaw basketball — Scored 23 points, including five 3-pointers, had five rebounds and five assists in 2A district playoff win over Sequim.

Clarissa Wangen, Curtis wrestling — Won the 155-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Sierra Wangen, Curtis wrestling — Won the 135-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Madison Watts, Orting wrestling — Won the 125-pound title in the 1B/2B/1A/2A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.

Tru Willis, Silas wrestling — Won the 190-pound title in the 3A/4A girls Mat Classic XXXV state tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday.
