FAB FIVE

Isaiah Cuellar-Bell, Glacier Peak — Fueled a Glacier Peak comeback against a tough No. 13 Camas, scoring a team-high 24 points and showing range, hitting 4-of-9 attempts from beyond the arc. A Central Washington football commit.

Beckett Currie, Camas — Was so good in the first half against Glacier Peak, he forced the Grizzlies to go into a Box and 1 defense for the first time this season, just to slow him down. Despite the constant double teams, finished with a game-high 26 points and made 5-of-11 of his 3-point attempts. Also pulled down five rebounds.

Adam Davis, Tahoma — There was no chance Davis was going to let Jackson send the Bears home packing on the first day at the Dome. He was lights out, scoring 26 points and fueling an 18-0 run to end the game. Shot 9-of-11 from the field, a perfect 6-of-6 from 3-point range and 2-of-2 from the free throw line, had 12 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots and three steals.

Demaree Collins, Skyview — In a defense-heavy game, Collins’ 21-point scoring output was the difference in a 55-47 win over perennial state tournament contender Federal Way. Made a pair of 3-pointers, had four rebounds and an assist.

Blake Stempniak, Kentwood — The younger brother of Logan Stempniak, who also starred at Kentwood, Blake shares the penchant for hitting big shots for Kentwood. His four 3-pointers were key in Kentwood’s win over Olympia. Also had two rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

QUOTABLE

Demaree Collins, Skyview: “We take everything personal. Everybody thought that we wasn’t gonna make it this far and that’s exactly what we did. We came a long way and now we play Davis.”

Adam Davis, Tahoma: “We have seven seniors on the team. I know none of them want to go home early.”
