FAB FIVE

Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake — Looked every part of a league MVP and someone who’s been at the Dome before, taking over against 3A Pierce County League rival Lincoln en route to a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double in Bonney Lake’s 56-34 win. Also had a pair of assists, two blocked shots and five steals.

Addyson Gallatin, Snohomish — Forward was a one-person wrecking crew in 48-40 win over Kennewick, tallying 23 points, including 5-of-9 shooting from 3-point range. Also had five rebounds and two assists.

Soraya Ogaldez, North Thurston — Rams’ star guard and 3A South Sound Conference MVP brought her game to the Dome, pouring in 31 points, six steals and six rebounds for the Rams.

Avery Hansen, Auburn — The freshman showed why she’s one of the state’s promising young guards, pouring in 23 points and connecting on 4-of-10 shots from beyond the arc in a loss to Everett.

QUOTABLE

Jazmyn Shipp, Bonney Lake: “We’ve never beaten them before this season. My entire high school career it’s been the only team we lose to is Lincoln. So getting to beat them three times in a row is incredible. Coming into the third quarter, no matter how much they were down we knew we were going to win the game.”

Alana Washington, Everett: “She just knows I’m going to keep running,” Alana Washington said of her sister, Mae. “It paid off and I’m so happy about that. I’m glad I was open for the layup.”
